MSRP will go up everywhere.
So that's a minimum $600 increase for the GSR then. For reference the MSRP of each model before Mitsu changes the website:
RS - $29,149
GSR - $31,399
GSR/SSL - $34,519
MR - $36,299

If this is true - i will call you guys tonight or tomorrow and put down a deposit.
Hope so ...
I picked up my car on Saturday. They only had if I remember correctly. 2 silver, 1 red, 1 blue GSR all non SSL. I don't think they had any MR's left. So unless they got more Sunday. Thats what I remember.
Wait, so Mitsu is really RAISING MSRP mid-year?
Is there any precident for similar MSRP pricing moves at Mitsu? (Or any other automaker, for that matter?) It's normal for internal prices to dealers to rise and fall over the course of the model year. And things like currency exchange rates and raw materials/parts costs can eat into the corporate manufacture's profit per vehicle. But all those normal price swings are transparent to the end consumer, and they still see the same MSRP that was offered at the beginning of the model year.
I know that a few weeks ago GM took a large precentage of its vehicles and actually reduced MSRPs mid model year, which was unprcecidented in itself. But RAISING MSRP mid-year sounds even more odd - especially if you factor in the lower auto sales that will result should $3.xx+/gal gasoline continue into the summer months...

^^^ To clarify, I'm not saying it's unlikely or unusual that MitsuMotors would raise internal prices they charge a Mitsu dealer to buy a car from them. The prices offset by sales incentives that Mitsu offers the dealers goes up and down throughout the year. That happens all the time. And you would not really expect Mitsu to be offering its US dealers big incentives in the spring and summer months when the bulk of the US auto sales occur. So that is not so surprising that the dealer cannot get their best prices at this time of year.
It would be highly unusual, I think, for MitsuMotors to raise MSRP prices, the price the consumer sees, in the middle of the model year.

msrp did go up. the sticker that mark gave me off my car is higher than the one here in town that has been on the lot for a few months. so did the destination charges, but I would assume that is a direct reflection of gas prices and the costs associated with mitsu to get it from japan to the dealers door.
I just got off the phone with Mike S. and he said that the MSRP increase DOES NOT effect the cars already on the lot - but it WILL effect the new cars coming in. He said they are expecting another delivery around May 8th ( 65 - 70 cars )
They'll have a better idea by COB today about what the programs are going to be for May. For some reason mitsu calls today the last day of the sales month.
( that's a corporate thing, i guess )
