where is the best mountain road to race in LA area?
that mulholland site is a great site. i was just about to suggest that until I saw that TO_lancer did.
i'd shy away from tuna canyon. that place is sketchy and scared the living hell out of me. the one-way part is awesome, but i just wish it was uphill instead of downhill.
ortega is cool, but there's no where to pass, and there's way too much slow traffic on it. might be worthwhile at 3am or something, but that was just total frustration for me.
if you're ever down near San Diego, I can direct you towards the good stuff. my route.... highland valley has some ok stuff coming out of rancho bernardo. that gets you out to ramona. then old julian hwy gets you out to santa ysabel. then mesa grande (careful with the gotcha corner about halfway), then palomar mountain. palomar is just plain awesome. not much traffic either.
