I cranked it till the pressure doesnt go up any more. around 105 across the board. QUESTION, would a boost leak have anything to do with the compression? I dont think so, but i want to make sure.

Negative. Compression is from the pistons themselves. Boost leak is for the piping. Check the timing on the car. That would be the first thing that would make you have low compression. Besides the piston rings being jacked up, combustion chambers destroyed, etc., but you have a brand new engine, so I don't forsee that as being an issue.

Did you only remove one plug at a time when doing the test?

That's where you fail. Only remove one at a time (the one out of the cylinder you're testing). Just unplug the ingnition source so the car won't start.

Also, make sure the throttle's open so the engine is getting enough air.

LoL!!! that has nothing to do with how much air the piston is compressing

James I love you like a brother... but wow you fail...

I looked online and thats how it said to do compression. Sorry i dont have a brain full of evo knowledge and god forsaken have to use the internet. And by the way, im not going to Afghanistan any more. Instead, i got offered a BAD @$$ deployment to iraq with a STG team. Im stoked! any ways... ill check compression again

because even IF you dont "open the throttle body to make sure enough air gets in", air can still pass the throttle body. FURTHER, the compression needs to be cranked several times. Even IF you DONT open it, you will still reach your results.. Prove ME wrong...

If I remember right the throttle body doesnt need to be open when cranking cause you get max compression when all valves are closed.. and the engine should turn over 3-5 times and than you should get the results. If you want to know exactly whats going on with the engine you should do a cylinder leak down test instead.
