Reno Area anybody?
Yeah I kind of do want to run my car before I did the hillclimb..w/ the new tires and LSD's I want to get used to it so something unexpected doesn't happen on the edge of a cliff lol. Either way RFR has new paving and I really want to race my car.
I'm kind of planning it, I sent them my entry form and did the necessary things to my car to compete but havn't heard back from them so not sure if I should just show up and crash thier v8 super party or what lol. It says something about invitation only so not sure if I'm supposed to get a return e-mail or call or what.
Well had some checking done on my engine at Tha Shop (formerly MFQ motorsports). Its always nice to be remembered. Still have a bad #3 cyl compression. Others from timing cover 175 176 145 177. a cap of oil it jumped up to 165. Some process of elimination everything is new EXCEPT the block. Its possible that the original damage was more extensive in that cyl. and .20 over was not enough. So when I get back I'll do a ring change on that cyl. and see what happens. If not time to look for a new block.

Hi,
I was the guy in the black Syclone at RFR yesterday doing some engine tuning work. I believe you were the guy with the white Evo, am I correct? I didn't realize you were planning on competing at the Spectre 341 Challenge as well.
I competed back in '04 at the VC Hill Climb in a right hand drive Evo 7 RS.

http://highperformancetrucks.com/for...g2_itemId=3684 . I also own a Evo X MR btw.
If you are not getting a response from FM3 Marketing on your entry, contact Jimi Day FM3 Performance Marketing, Inc. 414-702-4939 directly or I can let them know you are interested as well.
There is chance I may not be able to compete anyway as I had all kinds of oil leak issues with my new motor(Syclone) and I may have to pull it before I start doing suspension/aero tuning on the road course in a couple weeks prior to the hill climb.
Feel free to call me anytime at 624-0177 to discuss further.

Hello, yep that was me and I was shocked to see a truck out there doing so well! Looks real good. I am planning on the spectre challenge and thanks for the contact info.
Nice picture...must of been a little scary driving right side drive up the hillclimb.
Also, do you know if theres planned to be a big turnout?

Small world Reno is.
They should allow you to participate in the hill climb since they talk about vehicle diversity including pro-touring, exotics and imports mixing it up not to mention you have previous experience at a previous VC hill climb event.
Thanks for the compliment, but the truck is far from doing well. After a 3 year hiatus and a total re-engineer from the ground up I was finally able to get it road worthy enough to fly in the top Big Stuff 3 engine tuner and hit the track. We haven't tested the suspension setup prior to the test n tune yesterday and I really had no idea how it would handle, nor was it even my intent to try and tune the suspension. Nevertheless, I went and pushed it a bit harder than I originally planned and truck was a handful with the front understeering, while the rear was oversteering and more body roll than I desired. Before our upcoming suspension testing, I'm going to install stiffer springs, and try and lower the chassis another inch as well as properly reseal the oil pan and valve covers as well as fabricate the front splitter, hood vents and front brake ducts.
Although the engine tuning was cut short due to the oil leaking onto the tires and probably the track(sorry) we were able to achieve 95% of our tuning goals. The tuner estimates power output somewhere around 600 hp@11 psi at the crank. I plan on running between 15-20 at the hill climb if we can get the truck sorted out in time.
Driving on the right side of the car in the Evo took some practice, but became second nature after awhile. The Japanese specification RS weighed less than 3000 lbs with the full safety structure thanks to thin wall body panels and glass. The close ratio 5 speed was perfect for the hill climb. At least driving on the right hand side put me farther away from edge of the cliff!
I don't know if the website shows all the registrations, but what it lacks in quantity makes up for in quality. Stillen, LG Motorsports and the One Lap of America Camaro will be competing. See: http://www.spectre341challenge.com/entries/
