Reno Area anybody?
Small world Reno is.
They should allow you to participate in the hill climb since they talk about vehicle diversity including pro-touring, exotics and imports mixing it up not to mention you have previous experience at a previous VC hill climb event.
Thanks for the compliment, but the truck is far from doing well. After a 3 year hiatus and a total re-engineer from the ground up I was finally able to get it road worthy enough to fly in the top Big Stuff 3 engine tuner and hit the track. We haven't tested the suspension setup prior to the test n tune yesterday and I really had no idea how it would handle, nor was it even my intent to try and tune the suspension. Nevertheless, I went and pushed it a bit harder than I originally planned and truck was a handful with the front understeering, while the rear was oversteering and more body roll than I desired. Before our upcoming suspension testing, I'm going to install stiffer springs, and try and lower the chassis another inch as well as properly reseal the oil pan and valve covers as well as fabricate the front splitter, hood vents and front brake ducts.
Although the engine tuning was cut short due to the oil leaking onto the tires and probably the track(sorry) we were able to achieve 95% of our tuning goals. The tuner estimates power output somewhere around 600 hp@11 psi at the crank. I plan on running between 15-20 at the hill climb if we can get the truck sorted out in time.
Driving on the right side of the car in the Evo took some practice, but became second nature after awhile. The Japanese specification RS weighed less than 3000 lbs with the full safety structure thanks to thin wall body panels and glass. The close ratio 5 speed was perfect for the hill climb. At least driving on the right hand side put me farther away from edge of the cliff!
I don't know if the website shows all the registrations, but what it lacks in quantity makes up for in quality. Stillen, LG Motorsports and the One Lap of America Camaro will be competing. See: http://www.spectre341challenge.com/entries/

Yes, the evo 7 rs was a good choice for the hillclimb, I'm probably a lil bias though hehe. Unfortunatly though I don't think it really matters which side of the car your on because if you don't have some sort of ejection system w/ chute, your still going to Dukes of Hazord lol
Thanks for the link, I havn't seen the entree list before.Looks like it is def. attracting some serious interest.
Do you have shop here in Reno?
Hurry up Jer. get your entry set. Lets see you rep.
did a little digging on that Q1 thing. impressive car. If the guy can driver he could give you some good comp.

Actually, Syclones came with all wheel drive from the factory. The weight bias is better now with the aluminum race motor and the radiator in the back. More like 60/40 split front/rear.
My shop is my garage, although Samco Fabrication and Alchemy Motorsports have helped me with fabrication work on the truck.

Sounds like you definetly have your hands full w/ in the next month. I couldn't imagine where to begin on a trucks suspension...in getting the rear end to follow the front would seem difficult due to RWD and weight difference front to back. Hopefully you will get everything sorted out and have everything safe and reliable. The hillclimb won't leave much room for error as I'm sure you know.

I just got a return call from Jimi Day saying that my entry was accepted so thats good. He said there is a about 20-25 cars so far...so we will be able to get a lot of runs in. I know for the Ferrari Hillclimb you needed to be a corner worker for 4 hrs on 1 day and the next had to take that shift off, so I'm guessing at least 15 runs a day for this event depending how long tech/orientation will be on friday.
That's great news!
Glad to hear there are more cars than listed on the website.

I'll set up a camera to video my runs so at least you can see more than just the 1st turn or last.Overall, it should be alot more fun than the Ferrari race was, unless you went for a ride its kind of boring lol
The car felt good but the only thing I had a problem w/ was the nto1's.. I think I dropped the pressures too low at around 38. According to Will they should of been up to 45+ but that seems kind of high.
45 seems really high. On a warm day+ a long track session wouldn't the tire pressures rise a significant amount? maybe 3 or 4 psi?
For cold pressures yes, but I was refering to adjusted track temps ...the theory is the sidewalls are softer on the nto1 so need more pressure.I kind of just did what I've found the ra-1's liked but they felt kind of mushy or squishy. Kind of could feel the sidewalls moving well before traction limit.
