Yes it is a Mazdaspeed6. It is definitely a nice car with enough power and luxuries such as navigation, climate control, nice stereo, and keyless entry/start.

Apparently, the HP and TQ #s from the factory are vastly under-rated with some putting down 220HP and 270TQ to the wheel stock on a dynojet.

Unfortunately, the car is quite heavy, and my buddy is still getting used to the car, so my IX usually wins by about 5-7 car lengths.

The factory numbers are 271hp and the torque im not sure of. Thats right about where it should be to the wheels from the factory, but that torque is nice. Not really suprising though since peak power comes in at 5500 and drops off after that and the car revs to 6500. The turbo comes in QUICK, but drops off too early. I was impressed when i drove it, but like ya said... Way to heavy... Breaks just are up to par for that heavy of a car. What mods do you have done to pull 5-7 cars on it though?

All I have is a 3" TBE w/ HF CAT. I think once my buddy gets used to driving the MS6 hard, he'll be closer.

Anyone looking for track tires? Got a whole bunch of 235/40-17 toyo proxies off are World Challenge car. Most have one qualifying session and a race(about 1.25 hours). $25 a piece. Or, 60k and we'll throw in a BMW Motorsports M-3 race ready.

I used to live a block south of UNR about 4 years ago when I was going to school. I had a 97 Eclipse GSX parked on the apartment assigned parking that was visible from Virginia St. (the main street there). I was paranoid about the car when I first got it, but after a few weeks, I got comfortable. There was never a problem or vandalism of the car, I think mainly because you can see it from Virginia St and a lot of city cops and university cops patroled the area. I think you'll be fine, but be sure to check out the place in person and see if you can get something w/ a garage.

To find rentals, I'd use www.renoclassifieds.com and search the rental postings there. It is the same data you'd get from Reno Gazette Journal's classifieds.
