boost restrictor pill

Anyone have one I can borrow for a few days. I need to take my car in to get the HVAC warranty done. Going to take the EXEDE and my gauges out. They told me any extra work/wiring and they charge me for it(the whole dash has to come out). They did just replace my front calipers

You just need the pill? I have the stock one in a ziplock bag if you want to borrow it. I'm in S. Reno, but work in Carson, so let me know.

Well got the MBC installed at Modified Auto salon, great guys there....good work. Only thing is, the boost gauge reads a spike of 30psi! and then tapers to about 25. Is the guage wrong, or is the MBC doing that. Now, it does pull harder and hold boost harder to redline, but alittle worried if that gauge is right that the turbo will fail. any suggestions? the mbc was set all the way to off, then we clicked it 2 notches. thanks

I would stay off boost and take it back to the shop to have them troubleshoot it. Did you have the boost gauge installed before the mbc? If so, what was it boosting? If you can, try another mbc... the current one might be defective.

Are you using a heavy spring on your Forge mbc? I did some searching and they say that combo will yield minimum PSI of 25.5-30psi depending on the length and size of the vacuum lines used. Again, I'm sure those guys at Modified Auto Salon will get it working right for you.

This could turn into a very serious problem if you don't get it fixed ASAP. IMO I wouldn't go WOT until its fixed unless you want to blow your motor

Whoa, definately stay out of boost until you are able to bring it down. I have the forge unos and it did come with 2 springs. I believe you need to have the softer one for the boost level youre looking to get.

You have to use a softer spring,it will take around 15 turns to get to around 20psi.

Thanks for the help, i figured 4 clicks per psi....so maybe thats too high. I will click it back 2 spots backwards and see what that brings it down to.

Can anyone recommend a good powdercoating shop in reno? I have been kicking around the idea of having my wheels powdercoated black, leaving the polished lip. I know about the possibility of the wheels losing their structural integrity, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a place that uses low heat in their process. Thanks!
