Exclamation Tranny Shop Local??

Hello everyone. I need some suggestions of VERY REPUTABLE shops around the area specializing in re-builds or repairs of the Evo 8-9 transmission. As some know, my tranny was ruined by mitsu when they broke it apart replacing the stock clutch last year. After weeks of case litigations, Mitsu is NOT covering anything and estimated me a 5800 bill. I will now need to pay it out of my pocket, then i am suing allison auto for the damaged tranny. I need to know a shop that knows these trannys well and can diagnose mine. Thanks for the help.

I know shep is good, and so is TRE, but i need it to be diagnosed first to see if the dealership is responsible for the damage. Is there any GOOD evo shops here that can check it out? I kinda want to stay away from shipping it.

A good tranny shop locally is Arrow Transmissions on Kietzke. Not sure if they have Evo experience, but I've been going to them for all my past cars and most likely will go to them when my Evo needs a new clutch.

You may also look into the Honda Shop in Gardnerville. They specialize in imports, including Evos and do tranmission rebuilds.

Fiaevo or SpeedElement in the bayarea would be a good one to hit up as well.

I'm glad some evo's made it out to Autoexotica today, I had a blast! It was great to meet new people and share info, and the import section was packed all day unlike the domestics and exotics

Here's some pics of my car the day before the show, after a fresh waxing

Hey everyone, I wanted you locals to have first dibs on all these great evo parts a friend of mine is selling. His garage is packed to the brim with all sorts of stuff and he wants them all gone, so here's a great opportunity for anyone interested. As of now everything is best offer, remember these are all top of the line parts!!

-Cosworth Race head (EVOVIII). This head is brand spankin new! He was going to drop it in his time attack evo but decided against it since his stock head is still doing great. MSRP $3,800

-Vishnu stg. 2 turbo kit (GT30R, JIC Titanium manifold, custom o2 housing, downpipe etc.) The kit is in great condition and only has about 10k miles on it. He downgraded to a 20g for auto-x and more low end power The kit w/o the manifold was around $5,000 brand new. The kit will be sold for one hell of a price, I'll to you that right now.

-genuine Ralliart UICP in excellent condition with less than 4k miles on it. These pipes are very rare and expensive, not to mention the 2-3 month wait time from Japan. full kit retails for $1,100. PM for details.

-Autometer Nexus gauges. (Boost/EGT/OP) These are nearly brand new and in perfect condition, all accessories and sensors included.

-BBS MR Wheels (non-SE version, 17x8). Excellent condition, around 5k miles. These will go for a great price to the lucky individual who makes the first move.

-(2 sets) Toyo Proxes RA-1s (sized for stock Enkei or BBS wheels). One set is well used but if you know the RA-1's, thats when they're the best for the track. The other set is not nearly as used with around 80% treadlife remaing. FYI, If you buy both sets you're going to get them for an even better deal!

PM me for any questions or inquiries. I'll have pics up soon, anyone seriously interested in this stuff can come see it in person.

Dang, completely missed Autoexotica! By the time I knew, it was mostly over. Oh well.

BTW, there's a new shop over on Mill off 395. It's directly across the street from Enterprise car rental. It's called High Rev Motorsports. The guy is pretty good with prices!

...and I thought all the shops in Reno closed down.
