here is the latest poop on using the runway. I talked to Skip the airport manager. I have an appointment Friday to check out the area we would be using, a 2000 foot straight. He is going to let me check it out to see if it meets our needs and if we can get our cars up to speed..yup I get a free run..hahaha. He said there is usually an insurance that is required by the airport (a group type) but he will see about a waiver for us with the airports attorneys. It would be a basic we will not hold airport responsible for damage to cars or personal injury kind of thing.
We would have the use of the airport all day I will try to get an exact time Friday.
Now if you think about it it seems that 600 dollars per day is a lot but if you consider that a ticket that you might get will be at least $600 its a fair price to pay.
I forgot...I would need to have the money to Skip the day before in the form of a cashiers check..

Ok it looks like its a no-go on the airport runway..I just checked it out and made a run, ran up to 115-120 mph 5 gear pull..good news was he'd let us go for 600 per day, also would take waver from us not holding airport responsible for damage or injury...however FAA and Airport require insurance aginst damage to the airport itself...a $1million policy to be exact..He gave me a number to call for coverage and we could get a special event one day coverage, however it would cost $1000.. So I'm guessing nobody wants to pony up to cover that and the cost of the airport runway.

yea forget that. Id say RFR but that straight isnt level...

where is a place you could tune that many cars without getting a ticket unless we could get the cops to shut us down a road but i doubt that. ROFL

RFR isn't that bad. Why not a TnT at Fallon? Make sure you get a helmet though since you will be running <13s.

A strip should be plenty for 3rd gear pulls, but 4th gear pulls might be close.

Hey everyone, just wanted to say i might not be able to take the evo to the auto x meet or out anywhere! Well, i just got my ACT clutch installed last week, and everything seemed to be fine for the next week, i was babying it to break it in properly.......Well, on saturday my IC piping blew off, so i had to stop and re-attach it. At the same time as i was leaving to back out, my reverse would not engage...AT ALL. I tried everything, just wouldnt engage so i had to push it out. Since then, my reverse will not work, so i took it down to modified and had allan look for linkage, or line issues, and he found them all secure. He even checked the shift boot, and that was fine too. Now, when we first took out the stock clutch that mitsu replaced in October, he noticed the t-case was leaking fluid...and also we saw huge chips and scrapes all around where mitsu tried prying off. This is why it leaked since it now does not make a good seal. So, i spoke to TRE and he suggests that the tcase leak is what is causing my reverse not to work, since it might have burned up running on it with low or no tranny fluid. So now i am going to have allan look at it later today to see if it still leaks, and how low the fluid is. Now i will have to battle Allison mistu for the damage they caused, but i know they are going to blame Modified for it. DAMN! Any suggestions welcome.
