damn you CHP!!

About a week ago I got a ticket for doing 63 in a 50 zone. This was in Chino Hills Prkwy going up the hill for those in So Cal who know this area. Then the ***** nails me for modified exhaust and smog alter(HKS RS intake which is not carb legal). I already put back my stock downpipe and put a custom silencer on my carbon-ti catback.

Question is will i get in trouble if I put back my stock intake before seeing the state referee? I called em up and they said I am not supposed to take out my "illegal" intake. But my friend said to put everything back to stock except for exhaust so they can test the DB level. He also said that they will make you require them to do the installation of the stock intake and charge $$$.

I ran a smog test to see if my car with the mods would pass emissions. Suprisingly it passes but the guy wouldn't completely pass me because I had no carb sticker. I'm ok with having to take out the HKS intake but I'm now worried about my exhaust which I hope I won't have to take out. It's not even loud with or without the silencer.

After this bullcrap I'm getting myself a radar.

CHP

yup that sure does such, my next door neighbor did that with his Integra and that was a major pain for smog. Worse case is with my WRX friend - totally modded out, u might have seen his car, its the Rotora brakes WRX and basically he got pulled over and had to see the STATE REFEREE for EMISSIONS and made him practically put his entire car back to stock, that was a major pain in the *** to do. Just make sure you go back to stock, that is the absolute best way.

I think it's bull$!#@ that they can ticket you for a non-CARB intake... They should make the laws so that if you can pass emission then you are legal... call SEMA
