Utah Evos
jk had to **** with ya since you only pop in once in a blue moon hmm speaking of blue moon
I'm going to probably have a few beers tonight since I don't have to wake up at 5am tomorrow
Actually, I've been working on that, but its a pain #1 cuz its a busy freakin airport believe it or not. #2, you have to have a cb radio tuned to the proper aviation frequencies depending one where you are with you at all times while driving on the field. #3. Youa re supposed to have flashing yellow beacons on your vehicle. And #4 its gotta be approved by the FAA and the Airport Manager. I'm thinking it would have to be a late night thing probably. That's when air traffic seems to be the slowest. But anyway, I will keep working on it and fo sho post up on here if anything ever come about.
I WIN!!!
Thought I would post this up also. Surprised Biggie didn't since he was just on yesterday.

First: Are transponders/timing included in the 150 for the whole day? I never even thought about that, but for SCCA it is 25 to rent a transponder for the day, if they're included, that makes the price 125.
Second: 3:10 - 4:30... for real? That sucks. You'd have to do like 2ish laps of qualifying, come in, and pray your car cools down by the actual session. And that's not counting having to come in early from the first practice session to cool down in time for qualifying.
1 hour of straight racing is not exactly the easiest on a car, especially a street car. You could do it, and with how efficient the Evo's cooling system is I doubt it would even heat up. Brakes and tires are what I'd be worried about though. Unless you're running track pads and slicks.
A set of new V710s and street pads would be toast by the end of the hour.
I'm gonna go in reverse here... And NOT hit an $89k sports car... sigh

how's the track in november? or I should say how's the tires out there when it's that cold? Your right Jake a hour of straight driving would be ****ing rough on my car and would have to fill up the methonal a **** load of times
that would be sick to get on at miller but not without a 2nd gear

That is alot of track time all at once. But for $150 you can afford to take your own breaks during the session to let things cool off a bit, fill up with gas/meth, etc.
About transponders, you'd have to ask Biggie. Last I knew you had to rent one for $25 but that was also when the cost was $125. Maybe they are including it this time.
prob 174 my friend redlined his 5th gear. I've got mine to 167 I didn't wanna get that close to redline and that was fast enough

Tires contacting ground = heat... Tires being used to near 10/10 of their ability = more heat. Cold weather = less heat = less tire wear = less worry about car temps. Really if the temps are around 60ish I doubt the Evo's temps would raise above normal operating temps even if you ran it straight for the whole hour. It's the brakes that would suck, they get hot easy, and 40* colder really doesn't make a difference when you're getting them up above 500*. Last time I pyrometer'd my track pads they hit ~750*. And that was after a cool down lap. Tires will definitely wear less though. And colder air is more dense, which is better for all cars anyway. Don't you notice your car feeling faster as the temps drop? You don't need 2nd at miller. With your car's power and it being outer course, I don't know if i would ever even shift into 3rd (except for maybe clubhouse turn and the other hairpin turning onto the main straight). Other than that you would get 5th down the straight and go 4th through the rest of the track. Oh I forgot the turn 5 hair pin. That would be third.

You'd have to stop sometime to fill up both for sure.SCCA isn't much more than 150 (for non members) and they are about the same amount of time (2 hrs total) and are always spaced out by at least 30 min between runs. Though, transponders are not included.
Another thing to factor in is the whole track rental is more than the half tracks, so it probably is 150 w/o transponder, and SCCA for the event next weekend is probably more than 165.
You're dumb.

Try to work something out down there since you have a in with them
