Actually, I've been working on that, but its a pain #1 cuz its a busy freakin airport believe it or not. #2, you have to have a cb radio tuned to the proper aviation frequencies depending one where you are with you at all times while driving on the field. #3. Youa re supposed to have flashing yellow beacons on your vehicle. And #4 its gotta be approved by the FAA and the Airport Manager. I'm thinking it would have to be a late night thing probably. That's when air traffic seems to be the slowest. But anyway, I will keep working on it and fo sho post up on here if anything ever come about.

November is better than July/August. Especially on a cheeseball with street tires. 
Tires contacting ground = heat... Tires being used to near 10/10 of their ability = more heat. Cold weather = less heat = less tire wear = less worry about car temps. Really if the temps are around 60ish I doubt the Evo's temps would raise above normal operating temps even if you ran it straight for the whole hour. It's the brakes that would suck, they get hot easy, and 40* colder really doesn't make a difference when you're getting them up above 500*. Last time I pyrometer'd my track pads they hit ~750*. And that was after a cool down lap. Tires will definitely wear less though. And colder air is more dense, which is better for all cars anyway. Don't you notice your car feeling faster as the temps drop?
I second Chuck's not using 2nd. Turn 5 was the only one I had to use 2nd in, and it was for a few seconds at most. You could easily pull it off in 3rd and 4th and 5th just fine. If you went the hour straight you'd be out of gas too, so it wouldn't matter that you were out of meth You'd have to stop sometime to fill up both for sure.
SCCA isn't much more than 150 (for non members) and they are about the same amount of time (2 hrs total) and are always spaced out by at least 30 min between runs. Though, transponders are not included.
Another thing to factor in is the whole track rental is more than the half tracks, so it probably is 150 w/o transponder, and SCCA for the event next weekend is probably more than 165.

As far as temps go, I have yet to have problems with the car from heat. When I went to the track in July, no heating issues at all. Tires are different. I actually had more problems with the tires is september then in July. I think it is because I'm getting better as a driver and I'm pushing the tires further. The last session of the day, i could feel the tires were getting slippery. I was also flying that last session (I was catching a 996 911 Turbo that had been passing me the whole day).
Bottom line, $150 or $165 is a great deal for track time which ever group you go with.
True. And I don't want to turn this into a political thread ( although it seems at time that it is everything else BUT a car thread) but even Wes couldn't screw up the country as bad as congress has. As much power as the President has, he can't make up for the douchebags in congress who thought it was a good idea to give large sums of money to poor people and then are confused as to why they couldn't pay it back. I'm just glad I bought a house I COULD afford instead of what the bank was telling me I could afford.

I'm getting ready right now to head up so I'll be up later this afternoon sometime. I'll getting still shots done of the car tomorrow and again If anyones got some aggressive wheels besides Dallins 10.5 wide bishes to throw on my car for the shoot that would be sweet ****
