There is politics just like any other job. Here are some of the benefits of the military. Also, there are certain jobs I would strongly advise you against.

-Great healthcare coverage plus full dental, although the military doctors kind of suck at their jobs (took 19 months and 1 deployment after I blew out my knee for me to get surgery). One big problem with them is that they dont have to worry about malpractise. Once you can get a referal to go to a physician off base you are golden.

-You can retire after 20 years and begin your pension a month or so after retirement rather than at 65 or w/e.

-You get additional money for dependants (wife and kids). If you have dependants or meet the minimum rank requirement (E-4) or time (3 years) you get paid additional money for housing based of the average housing market in the local area. As you make rank, you get more of that money.

-Higher rank and/or time in service = more money. Job security unless your a f***-up.

-Tuition assistance while you are enlisted. After 2 years of service and you pay in either $100/month for 12 months or $1200, you are eligible for the GI Bill. I believe the amount now is ~$50k and can now be applied toward a spouse or children (as long as it is used within 10 years of seperation.

-Deployed income is tax free

There are pros and cons to any job, but if it is something you want to consider, then I can give you the information a recruiter will not give you. Not saying that you shouldnt consider it, but talk with someone that is or has been in the military before you sign anything. I am not trying to talk you out of anything by any means, just dont want you to make a decision if its not right for you.

I really wish thats what I had done. Marines I mean. Buddy I went to competitions with in high school made it through sniper school and we were going to go through the buddy program.

Guns are fun, but they are addicting like tattoos. Very expensive habit. The Barrett is bada$$. Hopefully we will be going out to the UTTR to shoot it here in the next couple months.

True I shouldn't complain, though the Evo doesn't even have double the Porsche's luggage space, which is pretty funny. But it has almost a third of the space of the STi. Plus, the Porsche's is deep, and the Evo's is just wide. Deep is much more useful than wide. But I use the passenger seat and the back seats mostly in any car I've ever had. Getting stuff out of the trunk is usually too big of a hassle

And regardless, it is still a Mitsubishi. But maybe I'll find out how much the Mitsu dealers would give me for my car and give me on a GSR.

 

It looks like it is either 2k rebate OR 0% financing. That lowers the chances of it working out enough to make me want a X by quite a bit. symbol adds 5k to the price IMO. That's about how much I'll need saved for when parts start breaking within the first month

Alright guys thanks for the support, it looks like I'll be keeping my job. Man it was tough just now seeing everyone that was getting laid off. Made me feel really bad, I wanna go home now, its so empty here now. Everyone that I was friends with is gone. Noone was safe either upper management and regular guys too. I heard one assistant manager hd been here 30 YEARS!!! I thought for sure I was gonna get the axe. I'll be saving ALL my money now just in case the economy sinks deeper. AHHH I can breathe a sigh of relief now.

Jason what kind of work would you need, I might take you up on the offer as a side job.

 

I'd love a red or white RS too, but I think I am a lil jaded when i t comes to red evos

I HAD A WHITE IX RS (HENCE MY EVO M NAME) BEFORE MY X, AND I REALLY LIKED THE RAWNESS OF IT, BUT WHEN MY WIFE FOUND OUT THAT I SPENT 30K ON A CAR THAT DIDNT HAVE POWER LOCKS, WINDOWS, OR EVEN A STEREO, . . . ... . SO I HAD IT FOR ABOUT 9 MONTHS AND GOT THE X ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER THAT. I HAVE TO ADMIT, THE POWER AMMENTITES ARE NICE, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU LIVE WITHOUT THEM FOR A WHILE. I HATED GOING AROUND MAKING SURE MY DOORS WERE LOCKED AFTER EVERYONE WOULD GET OUT OF MY CAR. THE WAY IT DROVE THOUGH WAS REALLY UNIQUE, AND I BELIEVE IT WAS FASTER IN A STRAIGHT LINE THAN MY X, BUT NOT WHEN YOU GET INTO THE CURVES.
