I believe the vegas track is about 2400ft. I was running into knock, so I took out two degrees of timing and started missfiring. I don't know if the specific gravity of vp110 is too high or what, but we couldn't get it to work at all on race gas. Mike thinks that the problem is the utec, so we'll find out when I get the new standalone. By dropping two degrees of timing I lost about 6mph in the traps. It should get kinda interesting this spring, now that I can pull 1.7 60's instead of 3.3's ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.................

Oh, I found a wheel at a discount tire in vegas, and while we were out watching the supras dyno ungodly amounts of hp, one of the guys told us there was an open bracket class on saturday night. So we headed out made like three runs and called it a night.

rob i have had problems with the 110 also! with my dsm link on my old car it would love c-16 though i couldn't give it enough timing! that could have been your problem right there!also what plugs are you using? how was the launch with the twin disk? that was with a studder box correct or is that antilag ? does it build decent boost off the line?

Yeah i would just ditch the UTEC it is a pretty expensive thing just to get rid of on a wim. I would try to fix it. Did mitch run vp110? on his utec? Did he have probs? If he didn't I don't think it is the UTEC.

Also I can't get you an RG man I have been looking all over. The RGs have been discountinued so if that dude can get you them GET THEM because you might not be able to again.

Hey I have a question for anyone else here: I got a Service Campaign Notification from Mitubishi today, concerning some problem with the cooling fan controller, and that it may malfunction and cause the engine to overheat.

I was wondering if anyone else got this yet. I have heard that Mitsubishi has done this in the past to get cars in and check for modifications. I don't have any, so I have no problem taking my car in, but I was curious anyway.

I thought about c-16, it actually has a lower specific gravity count than vp-110, but a higher knock threshold. That wasn't the only problem I ran into with the utec. I want to run low timing advance and high boost on pump fuel. Doing this decreases the compression load, and the tensile load on the motor, while still making good power. With the utec you can't do this. It still relies on the stock ecu for timing advance. You can manipulate it, but you can't make it do exactly what you want it to. With a setup like mine, that is a major downside. Also, you have to stay with the maf sensor which is an automatic restriction to make anything over 500hp, at this altitude the gt35r should be capable of about 540whp. I talked with jermaine, and he said there is no plan yet to go to a speed density style setup. So these are the reason's i'm selling the utec. I'm not ******* it, I think it's a great tool for someone who wants a very straight forward tunable ecu, and is planning on runing a turbo that flow 45lbs per minute or less. Hell, cole ran an 11.9 with the utec and an fp green on his sti. That's pretty impressive at 4500 ft.

I might see if I can get ahold of some c-16, but it really is hard to gauge how fast the car is when you don't have a strip to run it on.

Zach the twin disc launches awsome. It took me a while to figure it out (call it lack of experience) but it works great now. I just set my secondary rev limiter to 6100 pull the ebrake, when I see the first light I preload the clutch while maintaining the secondary, and at the third light I drop the ebrake, and side step the clutch. Mike also informed me that its probably the best way to launch because you're preloading the transmission as well, so your taking any slack away that my be there.........

I'm running bpr7es ngk's...............

Pretty sure that Jenson Oil down here in SLC sells C-16. It's about 4800-5000 S on Redwood Road.

My friend Jason who works at Discount Tire in Orem just picked up his Evo. Bought it from a guy who just picked up an MR. He got the best deal from the guy in history. That car is white, I used to see the older guy driving it around sometimes. So now there are going to be tons of us white cars if we ever get together.

Its a 'real' recall. I belive the normal lancers and some other models use the same cooling fan controller and got the same recall. This and the improper weight sticker are the only 2 evo recalls that I know of though.

Thanks, I'll probably see if I can get mine in next week. I'm glad I don't have anything to pull off, though.

There is also a weather stripping for the ECU harness recall
