Since all my experience comes from Forza that will probably be what happens to me. Does the car need any special safety gear installed on it to participate? I assume that a helmet must be worn but after that I have no idea.

And Zach, deal with it, A LOT of Evo owners have the nice noise from one of the front suspensions. There is a chance that it's a problem, but it's most likely the metal on metal rubbing, you can fix it by taking some rubber padding and putting it around the one part (can't remember what part, I just remember a guy showing a picture that he had done it). There might be a few other things to do to fix it, and it might not even be the same "clunking" noise that others have.
