You are crazy, what are you building it for?

Who cares about ac when you have a turbo big enough to propell this four door by anyone and a turbo big enough to cool you off because there is no ac lol

Actually it doesn't, not if it's a true garrett wheel. It may be a variation of a few different turbos that AMS is putting together and calling a gt-37. Look at the flow chart of the big GT37:

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...2_452159_3.htm

The 3782R flows a maximum of 58lbs per minute, and has an inducer of 59.1mm

The 3582R flows a maximum of 62lbs per minute, and has an inducer of 61.4mm

According to the manufacture of the turbo, the GT-37 flows less air and is capable of less HP.

So if AMS is claiming more HP out of a GT-37 they aren't infact using a Garrett GT-37 compressor wheel in the turbo they are calling a GT-37.

Just got done reading the AMS thread on their "GT37R".

I bet they are using a 3782 turbine wheel with a T-67 compressor wheel. That would give them a turbo capable of close to 800hp. It would be a slight variation of what Full-Race is calling their 3567.

It irritates me how tight lipped Martin is. I understand where he is coming from, but he wouldn't even tell me what the turbine wheel in my 35R setup was. I had to take it apart and measure it!!!

Check out pte....GT37 outflows the GT35...It is right between the 35 and 40 naturally. AMS uses pte turbos man...www.precisioturbo.net

Tony, I think you are missing my point. PTE claims to use garrett turbos as well, but they don't list them under Garret nomenclature. I'm not saying that what AMS sells as a GT37 isn't a more capable turbo than the GT35R. What i'm saying is it is not a Garrett GT37 wheel. It is something they are classifying as a GT37. You can see that simply by looking at Garrett's (the manufacture of PTE CHRA's) website. They list all of their engineered flow maps, and there wheel specifications both hot and cold on their website.

Understanding the manufacture nomenclature and specifications will help you to wade through the misconception of todays turbo kits, and the 100s of different names that are applied to the same turbos, enabling to know the true performance limitations of the turbo you are getting.

I don't disagree at all with it put that way.....its just what I read and I know AMS uses PTE.....size of the wheel???who knows...I doubt i will push this turbo to the limits so it will find a happy home under my hood....with the knowledge that I can outflow the AMS 35r kit if I so choose to push the limits, with minimal spool up issues. I don't know the size of the wheel and won't until I buy the sucker lol....i don't blame Martin for being tight lipped though.

If it uses the wheels I think it does, it is very similiar to what I was thinking about having built, and what we almost had built for Silveroffs about 4-months ago. It should be an excelent all around turbo.

Exactly, and that is what concerns me ultimately Maybe the turbine diameter makes the difference. 72.5vs.68 I believe.

July-August 2007? That's a long long time... Speaking of Turbos... have they got the 20g's working(making substantially more power than the 16s) yet? Or is the best bet for a faster but still small turbo still the TME 6.5?
