jeremy it depends on how much you wanna spend?? the exedy ceramic twin disk is great, act2900 is good if your on a budget & if your a baller get a tilton...

i'm just now rebuilding my twin after about 100 launches 40 of those off 2step @7000rpm so it held pretty well it also shifts @ any rpm you want does make a good amount of noise though on decel, shifting & @ a stop.

I added it up and got like 80 launches off the stock clutch, not counting any Scott may have had. I want something that will last more then one season of autox, I do not want to have to replace it every winter.

Think I will have to get a twin disk, talked to a few people and that is their recommendation for the power and use it would get. Exedy HD or Tilton seems like the best options. Tilton is really not that much more.

I'm under the opinion right now that Exedy has enough time in market on this motor that they do a good job for most of what people want. Exedy probably has that 'extra' 20% of hopefully less hassle in the long run being that you can rebuild it

0.02 -- but I think the extra munnies for the Exedy / Tilton are worth it.

Let me know how the install goes ... Will you be doing the install yourself?

One of the advantages of the doubles is that they can be rebuilt for the money that would go to a new one. I am just hoping that they will last more then twice as long as a singleplate to make the $'s balance out.

I cant honestly remember lol I just looked at an old invoce and my coilovers were 1700 so umm sheet maybe it was the clutch that was 1200. All I know is that all the goodies hurt my bank account

Pretty sucky I still have in slc waiting for me to come up and to be install by vesko is:

clutch & flywheel, IC tubing, intake, Gen 1 BOV, ecuReflash, downpipe & exhaust

And I have to wait till my car is fixed cuz of some old douchebag that hit my dr side rear door at the dealership last monday, the dealership is paying for everything wich is great. The door got ordered last thursday and not here yet I just want to cry. I've been driving the old h22a accord but the dohc vtec is nothing compared to the evo boost

got the accord for sale 4 $5k but I just want someone to buy it now

boost > vtec

I have the exedy hyper twin and it is way more clutch than you need on the Evo 8 with a evo9-20g. I installed an ACT 2900 SD clutch on a friends car w/ the 20g upgrade and it is holding every bit of the 425-450whp that the car is throwing at it. Plus it doesn't make the whining noise when your in stop and go traffic like the twin.

<<yes i ment to put ACT 2900 and not ACT 2600>>

I don't think the problem is holding the torque that my car makes, it is the hard launching it gets when I autox. I would rather spend more money up front if it keeps me from changing the clutch more often.

How does your friend use his car? Drag race? Autox? track day? I will be using it daily but on the weekends I tend to beat the car at the track and autoxing and I want something that can take it. A mechanic friend of mine suggested the Tilton a clutch that will do everything i need and last.

He drive the car like he's in a fast and furious movie. This is his 9th clutch since he bought the car.

Seriously though, He drives Auto X and he thinks that poping the clutch to cause it to drift around turns helps his times!! LoL He also trys to drag race.

He's had the clutch in for a little over a month and has SCCA'd it in 3 different events and there has been no signs of slippage or clutch burn.

I've never seen how Tilton clutches perform so i can't give my .02 on them. Make an agreement with your friend that if it doesn't "do everything you want" then he'll pay for 1/2 of it!!
