I'm going to end up getting my new wheels before you do. Vesko's 3 days is longer than CCW's 3 weeks.
I was visiting in SLC for my grandmother's 95th b'day and was driving south on I-15 (an exit somewhere between 2000S and 4000S) in a rental car last Thur at about 3PM and a red Evo out of nowhere from the left carpool lane blasts by me about at 100mph crossing all four lanes to make one of the exits. This was durring the beginning stages of rush hour traffic too - I was tense just trying to avoid collisions going with the flow (70mph)!
Initially I thought "What the hell did I just see?"
But it wasn't until several close calls after continuing south towards Spanish Fork did I see an obvious perspective, which is - even though this person was traveling 40 mph faster than everyone else, and just crossed four lanes of traffic to make an exit increasing the risk and severity if someone makes a wrong move, he was actually avoiding potential collisions by driving around them - kinda like being on a different plane of existence.
Allthough I thought it was interesting to witness - I have never in my life seen such a freeway exit - Just keep in mind that a collision at that speed means loss of life of other people too.
Whoever you are please slow down!

What did I experience in that 20sec. of me having to drive with more attention than both of them combined? This state suffers not from a speeding problem, as most would assume 'causes' accidents. This state suffers basically from two things: 1.) not moving over so we can pass on the left, and 2.) a lack of communication, namely signals.
In racing there is one corner everybody is heading for, and one not need signal in order to understand roughly what the other person is going to do. On the open road; however, signals are paramount to helping position safely (and quickly) on the road. Why does the Autobaun run so well? Because you get your azz handed to you by a cop in a BMW if you don't signal, and/or you pass on the right. Plain and simple.
I'm at least sure glad ya'll are here to help elim. the inbreeding on both the level of peeps, and autos. More EVOs and STis .. S2ks, and the like are a great thing.
Cheers,
~j.
Hey ... the S2K got a mention!
With the racing numbers, wing and other crap on the hon-DUH ... I get pulled over these days for no apparent reason. SUVs can fly past me at 20 MPH above the speed limit; but what the cops see is me.
I was pulled over twice on the way to the track the weekend before last. Once for going 68 MPH in a 65 MPH zone (no ticket, just a warning). About 15 min later I was pulled over by a different cop for not having a license plate on the tire trailer (another warning).

Time to get a truck and trailer to haul that car to the track. I have been thinking about it after having my car break this week at an autox, would hate to have that happen when I was 5 hours from home.

Oh, and I told you to just buy Rachel and early 16th birthday present of a big truck or the Hummer and we can get a trailer for both cars, with a wench or two inside...
