I would guess as long as it is secure it would be ok, could be wrong though.

how exactly are the odds evened with gokarts when your power to weight ratio (aren't you like 90 lbs dripping wet?) is so much nicer than mine when we drive karts with the same HP (me = 285 lbs)?

there are some GPS based ones that I have looked at that offer all sorts of data acquisition. they are in the neighborhood of $1000-2000 though. i feel it is pointless continuing to run laps out there if i have no way of gauging if I am improving my lap times or doing things any better than the last lap. it's just wasting time running circles basically...

Yeah, you do want to remove crap that would fly around. The laptop would be cool as long as it can't move around. There is surprisingly little tech to pass out there (depending on who is putting on the event). Just find someway to strap it down and you should be fine.

LOL. You know the cars are evenly matched, stock. "There's nothing stock about a stock car," Days of Thunder.

I agree. Its fun and i know i am faster, but i will be using a GPS lap timer this season. Check out this one. Its only $464 USD ($550 CAD) and has a 10 hz GPS (10 samples per second - the highest i've found in this price range). The software is amazing. Better than most I've seen. Download the demo and check it out.

Adam bought one from Mike didn't he? And what about the uber-sparco wheel with the built in lap timer? Didn't any of you get lap times figured out with all those days you put in at the end of the season?

I know mine

Yeah, we were too worried about not rear-ending every slow moving car on the track (all of them except us, LOL).

Believe you me, I'll have some times for you this season. Are you gonna come down and run or whaaaaaaaat? You can stay at my house, got an extra room for ya with your name embroidered on the pillow. Right under "slowest evo ever".

Don't make me make a whole new thread calling you out!

It's too far for me to bring the car under daily driver status. IF something happened I would be screwed. If something breaks on the car at a local track it can be managed and I could still get to work on Monday.

You guys without real/normal jobs should come run up here. Check out some of the videos of the track http://www.proformanceracingschool.com/

dude, your car will not break. Seriously, nothing could happen to it....lol.

Fine, i hope your lap times hold up. Otherwise, you will have nothing to brag about!

I heard that course is basically a paved rally course with trees everywhere.

I think the only tracks i'll be hitting this season are MMP and Laguna Seca.

My times are nothing special.

Did you watch the video of a lap, it's like Nurbergring with all sorts of twists with trees to catch you. I'll probably do it at least once this summer.

I started playing paintball again. It's way cheaper than racing cars, and you get to shoot people and yell at them.

Yes, Adam bought my MaxQGPS. It's a nice setup for laptimes and you can get one new for $300. http://maxqdata.com

JID ... you couldn't even get us hooked up with a tour of MMP. Now you're flapp'n your mouth about GT?
