"Anyone 18 or over, holding a valid driver's license, with a street-legal vehicle is eligible to enter Tarzan's Lap Battle" Am I right in assuming that my shaved
RA1-'s qualify as "Street Legal".

Street legal vehicle ... DOT R slicks including RA1s, Hoosiers or Kumho 710s. They're all street legal.

I do think the GT Live event is likely to attract a different mix of drivers and experience than the SCCA PDX and other HPDE events. If I had a street car, I'd probably still do it ... I'd just be very aware of the other wa'hooooos that are on track.

Are you guys doing both the Tarzan's Lap Battle and the Cobb event at GT Live?

But you are right, when it comes down to it, every dyno reads different and they are just a tuning tool.

Oh, and as far as airflow ratings go, it has been my experience that you can get about 8-8.5 WHP/(lb/min) (uncorrected) of airflow on the 4G63. This is provided the stock MAF system gives a reasonably good reading of the airflow, which from my experience is the case at moderate flow levels.
Thats good info. Yeah, tuning tools. I guess as long as you use the same one everytime, you can get good results.

Even on a load based dyno its hard to duplicate real life conditions on a street or track. it can be done, but it just takes time.

I was refering to the amount of people. I thought i read they were only running 20 cars per group. I agree there is no "requirements" for adv, beg, or whatever. There will be id10ts, guaranteed, but with a little communication with them or the event coordinator, things can be resolved. Never a bad idea to enlist some track insurance though.

Is the Cobb event in conjunction with GT Live? I thought it was later in the summer.

It may attract different peeps, but who knows. Its a crap shoot on any "open" type track day.

Are you looking to corner balance the car? If so the Utah Region SCCA club has a set of scales they usually make available during the early season test and tune events they do.

Corner wieghting is the whole reason for puting adjustable coilovers on a car. If you put on coilovers and don't conerweight the car you are missing out on the main and best feature of coilovers. It is not for lowering your car to gangster hieght. It is for proper distribution of the wieght of the vehicle and to get the center of gravity to the lowest point with out compromising certian suspension geomerty. I have driven many cars conerweighted and not. Coner wieghted cars are easier on tires, brake pads and other parts of the chassis. The car will fell more neutral and balanced. It's a good mod that most people wont feel. If you want to be lowered save yourself the money and get some lowering springs. If you are going to track your car it is a money well spent! What coilovers are you thinking of getting?

The COBB event which I am speaking is in conjunction with the GT Live, and in no way is it a track-day... Go on to GT Live's site and look at the activites list, you'll see what I mean.

20 per group on the West Track... It can still get crowded on half the track with 20 people, don't get me wrong, I might still want to do it especially if I can convince myself they'll let me do it with my slicks... Afterall, there's gotta be at least one local who can lay the smack down on all the punk idiot kids

Here: for those who are as lazy as me... http://www.gtlivetour.com/events/att/cobb/index.html

I'd suggest just going back to stock. Spend the money on more seat time in the car and learning how to drive it. The car has excellent capabilities stock, which almost certainly exceed your capabilities as a driver.
