Utah Evos
It isn't a track day... they're both part of GT Live. So it's 40 bucks for both days and you have to register by the 14th of April so they can figure out how many spots they need for the cars.
Speed Street is pretty fun. I've never raced a kart on asphault to compare it to, but I can get the karts to hook pretty well on cement. I like the slick surface. Have smooth transitions and clean lines and you can hook very well and run fast times. Get a little trick with the throttle and you can throttle steer quite a bit of the course. Passing is a bit rough though as the course is fairly narrow so if the person you are trying to pass doesn't drive a clean line, they will likely still be in your way becuase it is so narrow.
The 9hp Karts OWN over their old karts. You can actually get going fast enough to spin them out now.

If you guys ever come thru St George or Cedar you need to spank these Cedar boys they think the evo's are all punks. Some of them have old school r32 skylines and I smoked a rhd s13 silvia on saturday. I'm not a fan of street racing at all but these damn kids in a silvia, 240 and a talon all were like flippin *****es to chase me to race me so I gave in an let em have it but next time no street racing for me.

Sorry, was out of town...was forced to drive a PT Cruiser. Blast. I guess someone has to make rental cars!
Anyway, my point is that the compressor maps are made to show peak effeciency and everything around. A "hp rating" is just a best guess. Some motors are more or less effecient than others. Some can be made more effecient. Just saying that those numbers can be exceeded, not flow exceeded, but the hp made on any given flow rate.
As for the dyno conversation, i'll just let that one go. At the end of the day its just a ford-chevy argument anyway. Big HP lovers, usually like the dynojet, and those who want a load tuned map usually like the others.
Hmmmm, you mean, kinda like SCCA, or Lapping Days, or MPRA, or any other event we were at last year. Sounds about right. We all started somewhere. I've felt safer in beginner classes than I have in some advanced classes (especially with r-tards in their 'busa powered fiberglass cars passing unsafely and almost getting put into the dirt).
You are so lame. It is cheap track time. And if i remember right, the groups were limited, i thought.
Convertables need not apply....lol!

Just for the record, I am not a big fan of Dynojet dynos. I prefer load based systems that allow variable load adjustments.
Just straightening out the misinformation about the load based dynos being more accurate.
But you are right, when it comes down to it, every dyno reads different and they are just a tuning tool.
Oh, and as far as airflow ratings go, it has been my experience that you can get about 8-8.5 WHP/(lb/min) (uncorrected) of airflow on the 4G63. This is provided the stock MAF system gives a reasonably good reading of the airflow, which from my experience is the case at moderate flow levels.
I've maxed out the GT2871R though (44 pound/min) and at this elevation. You are lucky to get 38 pounds/min out of it on a normal summer day. This time of the year, you can get it up around 40 pounds/min. Which is nearly a perfect match to what the compressor map shows. The car did 116mph with that airflow in a 3000 pound car. I'd expect the stock EVO turbo to peform very similarly. Yes the Evo is slightly heavier, but the Evo has substainally better gear ratios then the car I ran that in. I'd likely say the EVO will out 1/8 mile that car, and that car did 7.7@96mph in the 1/8. Didn't have crap for top end, but managed 12.0@115 without much trouble.
Like Zack said, should be right around 115mph trap range. That power band was pretty damn fun though on the street. Not the same fun as the big cam/T67 setup I later had, but still fun in it's own right.

They're limited Fick, but how? By your choice... So who says some idiot isn't going to pick advanced and get away with it? You have a point, but all those events don't draw quite the number of idiots as GT Live probably will.
