Utah Evos
BTW, just to help out fellow Evo owners, if you educate yourself enough on a ticket, you have a good chance of getting out of it. Hell, if you just show up to court to contest, you stand a great chance of getting the citation dismissed
(remember I am talking about traffic tickets, not other crimes, i.e theft, etc.) because it is not always easy for us to make a court date when we get tied up with work. If you show and the officer doesn't, your golden
.

the ticket was for speeding
and the whole exhaust thing was a by-the-way thing no ticket
he was being kinda cool about the whole thing
cause i was like "oh really i bought the car this way" cause i still had the dealer plate and all so it will just be a speeding ticket for five over. *******

Take it to court, plead innocent (until PROVEN guilty), and fight it. Just be respectful, know your rights, and enjoy the time where you can suck hundreds of dollars out of court and only have to put a little back in if they kangaroo you, and still charge you for the ticket. Plus you learn a ton about representing yourself.
Good Luck,

Even for speeding ... just don't "bend over." 5mph over is well within safety.

If it weren't for the fact that I have the only key to get to my stock exhaust, I'd lend it to you, but we just found out we got extended.
Get to miss the birth of the first son!!well if you have another in september it'll be alot better because i'll at least have my new clutch by then and i'll be able to keep up with all u bastards haha, but either way man, sorry u ended up losin money on that, i gave u 20 but if i woulda known u were so deep i woulda pitched in more.
Nope, mine is blue. If you see me, say Hi! I cruise State most every Friday and/or Saturday later in the evenings when my ladies get tired! LOL! I have a pretty good sized group of friends that I roll around with. Its funny, we all just upgraded from civics. Also, we go up to the underground races in SLC after midnight too. those are hella fun!
Hey, I have a question for everyone in Utah...Is anyone else having trouble with the temperature adjust knob on their Evos? I'm looking at getting the retrofit TSB taken care of, but its dang expensive. Has anyone else had it done? Where did you go? How much did it cost? I've called all the Mitsubishi dealers in Utah and the cheepest was the Pocatello dealership. I'm going to flight school, and money gets tight....and I own an EVO...what was I thinking! LOL!
Techinally, if I or another officer wanted to be a d**k, we could write a ticket for you speeding 1mph over the posted limit. You break the law, you break the law...black and white, but it's usually you actions and attitude that determine the outcome.
I'd lend it to you, but we just found out we got extended.

Get to miss the birth of the first son!!And that sucks dude, hardcore! I think giving birth should be a damn good reason to send you home, at least for a few weeks or something.

I'm workin on the pics...I work a lot during the week. Who fixed it for you? How much did they charge? Did they follow the actual recommended TSB retrofit procedure or did they just jig rig it? LOL!

You break the law, you break the law...black and white, but it's usually you actions and attitude that determine the outcome. Let's just say that the State of Utah says it is a $75 dollar fine. If the officer has done everything correctly and you do not have the proper research (like the physics, etc.) and the officer shows to court with you, it is likely you are going to be paying a whole lot more than the $75. I have seen this several times. I had someone I suspected of DUI (erratic driving) do a Cali stop in front of me. That gave me probable cause to pull him over. He was sober, so I was going to let him go with a verbal, but he was being a d**k (instant ticket), and almost had to spray him for being non-compliant. He decided to take me to court, because he "stopped". I brought the video from my car and my notes from the ticket and not only did he have to pay $300 for the original $75 fine, but the judge also made him pay for failure to obey a peace officer (forget the amount). Just saying that just because you dispute a traffic ticket, doesnt mean you will win, in fact, many times you will have to pay more than the ticket itself for "increased" court costs. Know what you are getting into before dive in.

I'm sorry ... but you've thrown down the gauntlet relative to what I believe as "unreasonable" search. Remember we're talking about a speeding charge here. Granted I also believe that the problem starts at a level above your "officership" in enforcing "the law." Courts can be proven that they need "money" to survive and giving tickets is the ancillary "tax money" they need to keep things going. So welcome to being the ticket dispenser.

Speaking of which, when're we starting our club Jason?

V5 for the edm 96530006 works fine in place of the 96940011. I had it loaded for a few days & did some logging with no issues. I switched back until direct boost is ported over to the new rom, then I'll make the switch for good. The only thing that might concern me at this point would be OBD readiness monitors completing for emissions testing purposes.
So was it a big noticable difference to you vs mbc ?? I'd like to see how the ecu boost is controlled, just via boost limit or is something else implemented?
Car Concepts fixed it somehow, I dunno how they did it, definitely not the TSB it was before there was even a TSB on it. And it cost 2600 dollars (the amount I paid for my full stereo system haha)
Which is why going to court and saying "I'll pay you money, but don't put it on my record" works so well. Hell, if it meant avoiding getting pulled over for minor traffic violations, I'd donate 100 dollars a month to the "law," I'm sure a lot of people would. Especially if they'd let you prove you were a safe driver at those speeds, like, a speed driver certification.

I'll check with Car Concepts! Thanks for the recommendation!
Anyway, I don't know if they'll remember fixing it, it was 3, almost 4 years ago. They'll remember doing my car, and the two guys that did it are still there, but I don't know who fixed the HVAC control, I just went in complaining about it after they did the HU install. I'm surprised Mitsu wants to charge you for a TSB, I had one done on the Porsche a few weeks after I bought it for no charge, and 2 done on the Evo back in the day at no charge.
