My Defi guage rests about about 1.5psi instead of zero. I'm assuming it's ok then that I show 22-23psi at WOT in almost all gears. That should be more like 20psi I think since my guage is off.

I'd get that warrantied personally, I have a Defi D Boost Gauge and beyond the fact that it matches the stock gauges you pay a premium for accuracy with Defi. Thats actually a known defect with Defi's, happens during shipping.

I've posted this before but here's a video of my boost gauge at WOT in fifth from ~2500-4500 rpm (no audio):
http://www.norcalevo.net/gallery/alb...um35/boost.avi

You can see the spike and settling to 20-21 PSI.

Mods are P2, UR test pipe, and Works 76mm IP and AB.

Running the MR Diverter valve ours seems to go just above 21.5 or so and then quickly settles in just above 20. We run a little race gas in each tank of 91 so no problems.

I have a different diverter valve installed. Since putting it on, I notice a bit higher boost overall. However, I've also been able to duplicate a specific problem and wonder if it's because of the DV I have. If I'm under partial throttle (noted by boost levels of like -10 versus 0 for cruising throttle) mainly in the 70 - 80mph ranges, I get some type of loud exhaust-type feedback. It's almost like maybe the DV is confused whether to be open or not?
Could this be happening because my car with the P2 is not tuned for this DV? Does installation of a DV or BOV need tuning?

THanks.

That is one of the conerns that I have. I'm assuming the P2 boost control was programmed with the stock BOV in mind. If people replace their leaky stock BOV w/ a better sealing aftermarket unit, we'll end up boosting more than we're supposed to. Does WORKS have different P2 maps for different BOVs?

The OEM valve will hold up to about 23PSI without much complaint. Since WORKS has engineered the P2 to have boost levels below that, this shouldn't be an issue.

why does your boost fluctuate from 20-21.5, thats pretty wild. are you running stock bov?

Refering to my last post (#20) does tuning need to happen in order to maximize and/or fix anything with an aftermarket BOV/DV?

Do you recommend the stock BOV versus an aftermarket BOV/DV when using the P2?

Additional tuning isn't necessary for a BOV. A good BOV that seals properly and doesn't leak, flutter, etc... is all you need. Whether you can acheive this with the OEM unit or an aftermarket valve (such as our WORKS/GFB unit) doesn't matter to the ECU.

Thanks!

We have datalogging equipment which records boost on the fly. We have yet to find a MBC which does not demonstrate some form of boost taper. Even most EBCs exhibit some form of boost taper. That was part of our motivation to develop the Brain Flash P2.

We we do our own tuning and custom customer's tuning, we are very discriminent when analyzing boost all the way up to the rev limiter. NOT just redline.

In my situation; no, it's not relevant. I have no problems holding boost. It's with that odd driveability issue that didn't surface until the DV was installed.
