They are selling them as a package with their $399 spring / retainer set. The sale price for the cams is $649 = Cosworth suggested retail price. If you don't want the works spring /retainer set, you can go to their web page and just order the cams for 649$

You might be able to find the cams cheaper elsewhere, but Works has them in stock and were able to provide me a tracking number in less than 24hrs after receiving my order Do you guys really think that 649$ for a set of cams that just came out to the market is too much?

Yeah I do... I think 649 for cams is too much. The price is inflated because they know "dummies" will buy them right now for that much. I prefer to wait until more vendors have cams available to deflate the price.

Until then I will be watching thread involving ix's and cams , dyno's and numbers very closely...........

No reason for name calling you got PM

By the way, I see that you got works flash. How much is a free flash update for the cosworth cams worth to you? seems like works got business 101 mastered

nope, I will put my dyno plots online but it will be around 2-weeks. the cams will have to travel 6000 miles first to their new home

When I get them though, I am gonna dyno my car again before putting them in and then do another one with the same tank of gas after my tune. I will try to arrange timing of the dyno to keep outside temperatures constant. by the time I get to it, I hope to see some results on this board though...

Guys --- just spoke with one of the guys @ WORKS, and they've got a test Evo with the Cosworth cams being dynoed and road-tuned even now. The test vehicle has all the WORKS mods for the TR-340 package EXCEPT FOR CAMS. Baselines were recorded in this form, and then the cams were added. Testing will likely endure until Friday evening, or perhaps even longer to capture all other variables.

Sorry I can't be more specific --- it was just a phone call. Patience is a virtue, but I just couldn't wait!

You could say the same thing about almost any kind of product for any business line. Playstation.. ipod.. pc. You pay more to have it now as opposed to later. You're paying for R&D. So if it's worth the wait for you to save 100-150 bucks. Fine. But if you're gonna badmouth people for wanting something now, that's not cool.

By the way.. Please show me where can find a Pair of new evo 8 cams for $325.

I agree. All products are inflated in price when they first arrive. That just business. I prefer to wait that all. Especially, to see what gains will be had.

Paying 1000$ for 10-20HP is not cost effective for me. I am watching this closely and hoping the gains are worth while.

Cosworth EVO IX Cams

+1 dayf!
You peeps should all take heart from the fact Works is spending extra time on R&D of this package. I personally want a system that;
1. Is safe and reliable. I don't want to rebuild the motor after 50k miles.
2. Is street drivable. I don't want it to stall at a stopsign.
3. Makes good hp and torque gains smoothly across the band.
In that order of importance.
It is also taking longer due to the fact there is the MIVEC variable to deal with.
Making a quality package is what makes for customer satisfaction and I noticed during my research for mods as a new EVO owner, that Works seemed to have a lot of happy customers (and Cosworth has a great repution as everyone knows).
I'd rather pay a few bucks more and wait a few months more for complete satisfaction with my purchase. Just my two cents...

its actually alot more than 1000 when its all said and done. you need to add installation cost and custom tune on top of that.
