sure, I am just trying to clarify as I heard I would not need the spring/retainers from a vendor who also distributes cosworth products including these cams. I want to get these cams bad, but I also want to get a good deal and not order any parts I don't need...
the lift is stated as 11mm in cosworth web page, but I don't know the specs on stock EVO IX cams...

Just talked to cosworth. they confirmed that you should not have to change the spring/retainers if you keep the stock rev limit. anything higher (mine already revs to 7800rpm) they recommend changing them.
Also, the first set of cams are completely sold out and are being shipped to be delivered by the end of this week.

After all, everything is engineered, so it has to be good!

Has anyone tried these cams on a 9 yet??? Has Works done any dyno testing....anything????
Its funny how an 1100 dollar price tag is thrown up immediatlely and then they dissapear without giving any useful information.

Anyhow, would you rather they just said "We're going to sell cams, but we're not going to tell you how much we're going to be selling them for"?
They've even explained that they'll post results as soon as they get them. So sorry it doesn't sit well with your time frame.
We know there has been some discussion regarding the package versus the cams alone. Perhaps the most important reason for using the WORKS valvetrain kit is that the bottom of every OEM retainer compresses every valve stem seal with every revolution of the cam. Those two parts were never designed to make contact with each other.
In order to preserve your valve stem seals and prevent premature failure, a lower profile retainer like the WORKS Titanium one is required. These were designed with the WORKS 269 Power Cams and will accommodate 11.0mm+ lift cams for the 4G63. Pretty much all aftermarket (higher lift) cams for U.S. EVOs require this. It's not worth saving a few hundred bucks now to spend a few thousand bucks later if you plan on keeping your EVO.
FYI, pricing from Cosworth has now been finalized. The complete Cosworth/WORKS package is now $1048.

No, the post you quoted was referring to the WORKS valvetrain kit.
Dyno numbers will be performed with the WORKS P2, Drop-in filter, Aperture throttle body, and Exhale exhaust as a 'TR-340' package (although it looks like we may sell out before that testing is completed and posted).
