That is more of a resonable price than turbotrix cams which does not come with the retainers and springs. I'm sure most people would trust works than tt.

There is no reason - NONE - that IX cams should cost more than VIII cams. The exh cam is no diff anyway.

Those that want to be the first with these will pay for that right. I'll wait till they drop to $450 a pair.

You're always going to pay a premium for newly released parts. At least we can rest easy knowing that WORKS sells good parts with great service and knowledge. It's not like they're some thief in NYC telling you "It's Cosworth cams I swear. It fell off the back of the truck."

So it Cosworth has them listed at 649 for the pair, why is works selling them for almost DOUBLE that? A spring/retainer kit is like $250 max.

did you read my post? suggested retail is USD 650 and cosworth is a US based company, so I am sure that it is not EUR.

works spring retiner kit is listed at USD 399 at their site...

The bottem line is that this kit costs a lot. And Im not suggesting that Works or anyone is overpricing.

The real question IMHO is whether or not the ends justify the means. Is $1000+ worth 10-20whp? or whatever the gains end up being. I guess we will have to wait until some folks get this setup installed and post the before and after dyno results to find out.

However, it would be nice if Works or Cosworth already did that for us before selling an expensive kit without a clue as to the results. The Cosworth webpage for these cams is about as vague as you can get. Or better put, worthless. The fact that current data has suggested poor gains from other attempts on the IX isn't helping the cause either.

Actually, Works is known for having ridiculously pricey products so this does not suprise me. They make great quality stuff but even with that, usually still VERY expensive. The price of $1100 seems quite ridiculous but we'll see how the gains are. If I had an IX I would just try and buy them for $650 from Cosworth then get my own spring/retainer kit for around $200 or so elsewhere.
