for "nice flat fat power curve".

Do you guys think that valve springs and retainers are actually a necessary upgrade when doing cams?

i think when you have everything out it would be a wise upgrade and on top of all that if it is recomended why not you lnow $400 more doesnt seem to bad when it comes to bent valves and everything that comes with when you go with agressive cams. plus with a tune ecu you can see if your car makes power above redline without worries

I think some of us are starting to expect 5th Ave quality at Walmart prices. Works hasn't ever made any apologies for the R&D they take designing their stuff (a certain 02 housing comes to mind )

I don't have any Works A-MPs on my car either (more alphabet soup ) but admire their quality level.

IMHO .... The price are well within reason considering it's an upgrade kit and not just "Here's 2 cams, now go figure the rest out for yourself".

mmmmmmmmmm "Flat Fat Power Curves" ......... (:-{|)

Cosworth has spent countless hours of R&D to ensure that these cams are of the highest quality available. These cams are scheduled to be in stock by the middle of October. WORKS is currently taking pre-orders to guarantee your place in line. We will be following up this thread with data provided by Cosworth on the performance characteristics of these cams.

Due to the scarcity of these cams, WORKS will require a $500 deposit per set. The price for the WORKS EVO IX cam package is $1,099 including WORKS valve springs and Ti retainers. The first five (5) customers that are local will also be receiving an installation special with the purchase of the cam package for the Evolution IX.

Current P2 customers will still receive the free reflash update and those completing the TR-340 package will be eligible to receive the “WORKS TR-340” trunk lid badge in either bright chrome or solid black.

Sincerely,

How about some kind of data or real information about these? I'm thinking they've been tested a little prior to their release....

I'd ask for specs, but I know the answer to that question already...

Like Mike at RRE said, "wait till someone install's them and dynoes them." Cosworth is a proven company. If Works and Road Race Engineering sell them, they must make power.

I'm just going to wait until for CAMS for the IX come out. It was all started by TT, then GSC, now Cosworth. Sooner or later more companies will develop cams ie. HKS, JUN for the IX and prices will go down.

I'm not knocking on the current companies who make cams for the IX, but I just want to have a wide variety of choices.

Hey Oli,
Any info on a DIY install?

I understand you need a tool to compress the valve springs for this install, which is like $600 from . Will you guys be offering a a make-shift tool or at least instructions on how to make one?

question

Just wondering if anyone knows roughly how much it might cost for labor on the install for a kit like this... I can do more basic mods myself, but I will have to go somewhere and pay to have this one done...
