While this Xede sales talk on the WORKS forum is unwarranted from both Shiv/Brett and heshamnaim (whoever that is), I will concede one point to Shiv -- the Brain flash and Xede are geared towards two different types of Evo owners. The Xede lends itself towards those that anticipate tinkering with their settings, while the Brain flash is, as I described it above, a "plug and play" solution.

That said, let's leave the Xede sales to Shiv's forum (located at his website) and I'm sure he, Brett, and heshamnaim will do their best to educate and inform there as to that product's virtues.

David, any plans for a tunable ECU for the MT OZ and ES?

Dave,

Can you please answer that question....

Yes, we can. Will we? Nope. Does that mean we aren't evaluating increased boost applications? Nope. Is there an intake in the "WORKS"? Maybe. Will it come with its own reflash if there is one? Most definitely.

So, are you saying that one should not install a Boost Controller AFTER receiving your reflash and running it at 19psi to redline? If one does, is there any risk of any type of damage?

My guess is that you run the risk of running too lean. To gain power the things they tinker with are timing and fuel. If it is set to maximize performance at stock boost levels...I'll bet you will have potential problems with detonation with an mbc. It would be nice to see a 19-20psi to redline integrated into the reflash though or one that is tuned to work with an mbc holding boost at 19-20

From what I hear, the Real-Engineering reflash is supposed to work WITH a MBC set to 20psi...

See this I don't like. Why not integrate two HP making resources instead of relying on just one. If you can make a flash SPECIFICALLY for 18-19PSI to the redline and integrate the added airflow that a filter would give you, wouldn't that ad even more HP to the table?

I mean people can increase their bost for FREE on the evo to 18PSI to the red, just like in the 2G TSI AWD, just remove the Waste Gate Solinod restrictor, which is just a brass restictor in the line running from the watgate. You remove this, you get faster spoolup up, and another 2PSI up top BUT still follows the fastory slight falloff of 20PSI spike settled to 18PSI.

Again, I wish to buy your ECU, but if you can make this ECU with a 93 flash set for higher boost, for the love of God please make one for us, I just don't get that you are evaluating but won't step foward, very ambigious in your statments.

Could this be offered? I figure a slight increase in fuel coupled with maybe s slight retard in timing to allow more boost and more HP accorss the board. But you tell me, seriously, I want to boost and so do a lot of people,. this 16PSI ain't gona cut it for long as every other piggy back/flash/ECU runs atleast a MBC upped. Oh and I realize that just adding boost won't make power, but you have the opportunity to increase boost AND tune the car perfectly, every RPM incriment, the whole timing curve, so why not offer a flash that allows a boost increase? If you can make on for an exhaust (Obviously higher boost/ more air flowing through the turbo/engine/ more power needs more fuel, can't you do the same quite easilly?

Sure. The WORKS Brain flash is designed as a complete plug-and-play solution. It is not designed to be used with a boost controller. If you would like to experiment with a boost controller, you are on your own and it is recommended that you do so in a controlled environment (dyno with a wideband 02 sensor and datalogging ability would be optimal).

That said, we are presently wrapping up some long-term boost evaluations that we have had underway for some time, so it might be worth it to wait for our official response when that evaluation is complete.
