Spoke with Pete today about their turbo kit and the pricing. In all fairness, it does sound like a significant amount of work went into the "T1" flash. Doesn't sound like they tweaked a few parameters here or there but essentially had to rewrite most of the code for the new turbo and injectors etc. Thats the justification for the price of the T1 flash. He did go on to say that minor upgrades to the T1 flash (ie adding cams) etc would be free.

Sounds like they are mulling over some of the issues discussed in this thread, however.

What's your point. I don't care who's product you go with when you throw on a new turbo and new injectors I hope some specific tuning is done. It would be pretty half *** on WORKS part if they created some generic tune that 'complimented' all their parts. Sounds like you guys are just digging for something to ***** about.

That may be the crux of this argument. If the Works tuning solution only shows, let say, 350 hp with this turbo kit while people like Az3ar are able to get 450hp through custom tuning with dynoflash, utec, ect then its obviously not worth the $500-$1000 for the T1. If, however, it shows close to the same horsepower levels with a safe, reliable, daily drivable tune, then it would be a whole different story. ATP turbo kits are already in people's hands, it will be interesting to see how this pans out.

Only in a 100K miles will we ever really know. I like to err on the safe side.

Whats the point of going with a turbo kit then? Right now Works is positioned as a safe plug&play tuner. I think everyone wants that, but the question becomes how much HP are you willing to sacrifice for this? If its 100hp, then I think a lot of people will balk. If its mininimal, like with their "P" flashes, then there will probably be a lot of interest. No doubt they've invested alot of R&D in this, but it still must be competitive with the alternatives.

We would balk too. At the same boost level, there won't be a 100hp delta (difference) with any tuner unless someone or some company drops the ball.

PS "Don't boost too high if you want your engine to boost again."

295 whp on a dd dyno with 91 gas is the current benchmark to beat. Can't wait to see what works comes out with.

I would prefer to wait till WORKS finishes up their tuning efforts with the ATP kit.
