I have searched and this seems to be one of those questions that everyone has a different opinion on. I am looking to use Castrol Syntec on my next oil change. Mobil 1 has less then impressed me in the past and I know it is not the same oil as it used to be. Since it is somewhat thin I was wondering what Syntec to use to compensate. I was thinking 5w-30 for summer and maybe 0w-30 for winter (german castrol, which i use and love in my sentra).

Any thoughts on which one to use?

I use Motul 5w-30 in the winter and Amsoil 10w-30 in the summer. If that helps any

i use mobil 1. i've used mobil 1 for years and years, it's no different to me...

if you want to run castrol go for it. run 10w-30 for the summer and 5w-30 for the winter
