this is sounds like excuses. and speculations. we dont know how the brakes perform yet, and they are even used by the AWD system. etc.
anyhow if you want you can get my point why the cutting budget on brakes vs paint why is different when you talking about performance cars. specially if they wanna rock the world.

The Evo is an excuse car. It has great performance parts, but **** everything else. The go to excuse has always been "but it's fast". The RS is no different. Jesus Christ, how can you not see the irony here?
Once again, the point WSB was making initially was that if ugly steel brakes will do the job, something you haven't actually disputed, there is no point in going through the extra cost of getting fancy shiny brakes just to make the stancers happy. I don't see the principle behind the RS as being any different from the principle behind the Evo.

Why on earth are we talking about race cars in here? Didn't that go to a separate thread here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/lo...cussion-3.html

as some one brought it up why some complaning on the brakes when we got cut on the paint and that is ironic for him when we talking about again.. performance cars... lol
the homologation was bought up to see how serious was the evo build for racing when their build it and their cut budget on paint and not on brakes.
As some people said we complaining the paint on the Evo, luckily we dont have to on the brakes... as it should be... i rather complaning about paint on the performance car then on the brakes...
but you now that.
Also why we talking about racing?
Ford itself stated they do get rally influence and KB etc to make this car. They do run Focus in rally and fiesta but they are a LOT further from a street version then the Evo ever was.
Which already makes the evo closer to something what they advertising... Also they running around race track numbers also etc. which is great and i like it. so we can and should talking about racing with this cars. In fact most people . buys them for that reason. Racing accomplishments
Ford is also as we know heavily involved in rally - rally cross etc.
rally is huge, but many doesnt even know whats is going on out side of the USA. Maybe that is why the RS doesnt even made in here. i think still about a year before we see them on the street.
You also know that
also i did stated, i dont mind the brakes(that is not my argument at all, specifically for a street oriented car) , i said what i think why most people complaining about that. And what i get as a feed back from those who actually already see them in person .

People rally normal FWD Fiesta and Fiesta ST's that are very much like the road going car. Just like people rally the normal Evo (like you) that is very much like the road going car.
Now, the Fiesta R5 with AWD, etc is more in line with the WRC Evo. Both are pretty far from the road going car as far as suspension placement, body etc, even the motor has huge amounts of R&D in it and very far away from the power plant the road going car has.
So depending on what type of Rally racing we are talking about, BOTH CARS can be either close to the road going car or very far away from it. So yes, you can race in something they advertise, or you can spend a crap ton of money and race in something very far away from what they advertise.
The Fiesta R5 is actually a pretty accessible rally car price wise, for the level of what it is. That was the whole point of that program.
Let's get back to talking about the ROAD CAR Ford Focus RS.

i am talking about the awd turbo platform.
ford doesnt even have one yet on the street.
Evos doing 20+ years, and highly successful.
you can race an Evo bone stock with add on safety and coilovers for gravel with brakes, and tune only.
you cant do that with any ford to day in a same group, which is a former group N.
that is why the evi is homologated to the point where you can run mechanically a stock car in any rally event around the world .
which leads to the point. the evo is light years closer to the racing version of the rally car the any ford ever was in a same awd turbo
category.
as it is today, the STI is the only car in the US market which is as close to the racing version as the Evo. in awd turbo group. Period.
Ford i far away from there.
i know i saw all type of ford rally cars and i even drove many of them.
i love them, but they are heavily modifyed from the street version vs the evo.

Yes please. Move that crap to the thread we already separated from here.
I for one can't wait for the Focus RS but I am a bit biased since I have a Fiesta ST as well as my Evo and I love the little bugger for what it is.
I have no illusion that it is a race car, since it is not. It is a road car, which I will be using it for, driving on a road, and some track days, as a road car.
