Shifter Knobs

I was wondering if you guys know of any good sites with a large selection of shifter knobs. I'm looking for one that is heavy and is leathered wrapped if possible (I like the feel of a leather shifter).

Also, seeing that I have no clue about weights, how much do shifters weigh that are on the heavier end?

So does anybody know what the air leather is like? I've never heard of it.

I have the red/aluminum Sparco shown above. It's pretty light compared to a momo. The momo's I've felt feel like they weight about 4 pounds.

Not sure about shifting feel though, or what that air leather one feels like. Most of the shops around here have a limited supply in stock.

i know the greddy counter-weight knob is like 13 oz. it's pretty heavy, but not leather wrapped, but 12-13 oz is pretty heavy for a shift knob.

When you buy a shifter knob will any size do? I.e. are they all standard? If not, what should I be looking for when I go out and buy one for my ralliart?

Thanks guys!

Good question, I was wondering the same thing.

I saw that counterweight one. If I can find one that weight and leather wrapped and I'll probably buy it. I wish they posted the weights with the knobs on these sites. Makes it easier to filter out the ones I want to look at.

Most aftermarket knobs (if not all) are "universal fit". They come with a threaded adapter that bolts to the top of your stick using a few small screws. You then just screw the knob on to the threads like you would your current knob.

As for size, try to find a local shop that carries at least a few. This will give you an idea of the size and weight differences. For example, the Sparco one I have (exactly like vonzipper's) is pretty close to the stock size... maybe a tiny bit smaller. However, the Momo one I checked out was like the size of an orange and twice as heavy. I'm not sure you could tell the difference just by looking at the pics online unless they show a side-by-side.

Yep. I live in Phoenix, and I'm going to have to take mine off soon. It looks cool and I like the feel... but when it's 110 out that thing is going to be glowing red.
