You could always relocate your battery to the trunk and route the intake there. That's what I would do. The weight from the battery in the front probably wont make much of a difference to the traction... I vote for moving it into the trunk.

the battery isn't the problem, there's tons of room for everything, it's just the lower rad hose causing the problem...i'm going to look into those flexible rad hoses that you can mould however you please...
I have the AEM CAI, does it have the same pipe that you have there. Mine has the bypass filter and it looks to be about the same angle as yours from my TB to the bypass. I know that one of the CAI and SRI's share the same piping, but I can't remember which brand it was.

You can prolly go to gates.Com and check if they have a picture catalog with measurements of the angles if you find a part number rock auto it to see how much just a thought.

i will try, if there is room, i will water cool it...i have the OEM water pipes and banjo fittings...and a bunch of 3/8" water hose, i will feed it in series with the throttle body in a way that the coolant will pass through the throttle body first, then the turbo...if there is not room, then i will have to see if just oil cooled will be ok, i know lots of guys run mitsubishi turbos without water cooling...but to me, the option must there for a reason, so i'm going to do my best to take advantage of it...
