CrAnSwIcK's 4G69 Build: Phase 2
Yeah, I get that. It's really not a lot of money, especially over the course of a year. But keep in mind, you did a lot of your own fab work. I on the other hand don't have the resources to do such things, and that very unfortunate lol.

even if you cut and prepped the material yourself, it would not cost much to have somebody weld it for you...often if you go to a welder who normally does production fabrication on contract or whatever and give him cash under the table for a quick one-time job you can get it done for minimal cost...

Another teaser update...The build is winding down now, i can see the light at the end of the tunnel...
It is confirmed that i'll be going into "the shop" for welding this saturday to weld up the charge pipe. That is the final stage of the build, and the kit will be finished, as i have everything i need now thanks to Ziggy @ RTM Racing...
here's a few things i got, not all turbo related, but goodies non the less...basically i had some fun with my income tax return.
first of all, my front struts have been sort of bouncy lately, and i get pretty bad wheel hop, so in my quest to get rid of wheel hop, i started buying various front end suspension components...
Things that have not arrived yet, so are not pictured are: whiteline forward lower control arm bushings (fitment to be confirmed), 8mm aluminum wheel spacers, whiteline 18mm rear sway bar + urethane bushings, and Brent is supposed to be bring me some Hawk HPS brake pads...
here's what showed up suspension wise:
Appearently KYB is discontinuing their GR-2 line, and will be going full steam ahead with the Excel-G brand, which are identical except for the color according to KYB's website...

Aft (rear) front lower control arm bushings, and new spark plugs...Brent made fun of me when we were testing the plasma ignition system on my car, and he pulled champion brand plugs out...that's all they had at the local parts store when i rebuilt the top end, and i sorta forgot about it...

The following is what will complete my turbo kit (other than welding):
again thanks to Ziggy and Paul @ RTM Racing for great service, great communication, and fast shipping!!
compressor outlet J-pipe gasket, turbo inlet gasket, O2 housing gasket, 2-bolt exhaust gaskets for the downpipe, thick walled 4mm vacuum hose, 3/8 (5mm) heater hose for water cooling the turbo, and a 3/8 tee fitting for venting the valve cover, spare braided steel oil return hose, and a small 30mm OD aluminum pipe for blow off valve recirculation (not from RTM), and some flanged exhaust bolts, and not pictured, an O2 sensor plug, to plug the stock O2 sensor fitting on the O2 housing (my wideband is welded in farther downstream)

And this is the hydraulic press i'll be using to replace the lower control arm bushings, it's not mine, i borrowed it from a good friend of mine, but this is the same unit i used to rebuild my transmission and install my LSD...wish i had my own
