I want to bring this up again, since alot of the people on this list also seem interestedin the RIPP SC kit. If this underdriving were to decrease the power made by the SC (seems pretty logical to me), could a smaller SC pulley be used to equally offset the loss while not causing any extra lag to the system or making the SC have to work harder?

otherwise, things seem to be unfolding very well! Great work, Joe!

I don't see why not. If you tell them that there is a 25% underdrive they should be able to design a SC pulley accordingly. There is still the chance that I could produce an OE sized lighter pulley which would be ideal for what you are talking about. I am unsure if a lighter pulley would offset this system. BTW how much would the RIPP system cost?

I am pretty sure more people would prefer the undriven of the two. In a couple months there should be some available. My first order will range from 20-30 pullies. I don't want to make too big of an order and then get stuck with a bunch.

I am currently using the stock pulley in my car because I wanted to test the effects of underdriving the Ralliart. Feel free to test your Ra with an EVO pulley although I feel it will be a waste of time because they weigh similar and you would have to buy a different belt. More than likely not worth the time involved. The stock RA pulley will be going out tommorow. I will keep everyone posted.

The lightened pulley made for the RA will be worth your time. preliminary testing of the EVO pulley on the RA has been very good. I will do some more testing tommorow. I personally feel that an underdriven route may be the best because most of you guys would want to replace your belts anyways. If the RA pulley is made the same size as the EVO pulley I am using a belt would be in the $20usd range. If I find a place to sell me a discount at quantity I will do that too. I will keep everyone posted. I am very excited about the results and the car is happier to rev too!
u r the man!

My plans are to push the shop to do an underdrive only. I really like the response with the underrive EVO pulley I am testing and think it will be a good combination with this engine and drivability/power. This means a belt will be required. I will keep you posted on this.

Next Wednesday night I will be going to the Dyno to run the RA with the EVO pulley and the stock RA pulley. The EVO pulley I hope will utilize the same underdrive as the RA pulley I will have made. The runs will be on a Mustang Dyno which always run low but are usually very accurate. The cost of this testing is $100. I just want everyone to know where I'm at in development & testing. The date of testing will be July 6th. I should have results posted the same night.

how hard would it be to replace this pulley? because if i wanted to get this i would have to replace it with the stock equipment everytime i go into the dealer for check ups/warranty repairs... Other than that i don't mind looking into getting one. O yea can i replace the pulley on my own?

It is very easy. Although the dyno results will not come that day because at that time the stock unit will be on its way to the CNC shop. I will have to cancel the dyno session. I am so excited I overlooked the obvious.

I will keep everyone posted. So I will not be doing dyno time on 7-6-05. It will be sometime after.

The shop received the pulley today and said they should have a prototype done by Friday and ready to be sent out then too. They will be making the undriven version at this time because it will cost less to produce and take less aluminum to produce which means it should cost less than making a stock sized pulley of the same type. As mentioned earlier I have the belt sized for the application and this should be no problem.

I will keep everyone on the update of this.
