i know its a little late and the list is filled but what the hell. . . ill be #22! What kind of gains will we notice? Im not familiar with what the crank pulley does EXACTLY. Will it be added hp/tq or just free up more to the wheels?

If the crank pulley is the one with 4 bolts, what is the pulley under it? Just curious as 4 cylinders are foreign to me. I'm used to old v-8's...also I'm guessing the crank pulley doesnt affect the cam pulley? What DOES drive the cam pulley?

Joe, I'd be interested based on actual HP gains... so I don't want to add my name to your list just yet. If this pulley gets me 5HP or more though, I'm in. Best HP gain for the price IMO...

PM me with numbers when you've tested the product... and thank you for taking care of us RA owners!

Workz,
I am positive it will gain at least 5whp, so I added your name to the list. I wil post info on dyno here and try to remember to PM you with the results.

5150,
Do you like VanHalen? =) Anyways, this bolts to a pulley that I believe holds the balance shaft or timing belt. And then of course that is bolted to the crank.

Mitsubeastin,
I have addressed this question. I see no reason why a lighter stock sized or underdiven pulley would affect any warranty. It is only saving weight from the engine and has shown yet to cause damage in any 4Gxx engine.

PR_Mivec,
Do you want to know if the stock EVO pulley will bolt to our crank? I will give it a shot and see. I will also try to measure weight difference of both the stock RA pulley and the stock EVO pulley if it works out. It is possible those users that want to remain with a harmonic dampener could use the stock EVO pulley as an underdrive from the RA pulley. I will let you know!

Question

-

Joe, how would the OE size pulley gain us almost the same HP as the underdrive you were planning at first? I mean, the OE pulley surely doesn't weigh 100lbs!?! I'm a bit confused on that...

Oh, and if your pulley remains at OE specs, that does mean you'd sell it for 70 US$ though, right?

perfect!!
Exactly the answer i was looking... if it fits or not will buy the pully b/c mine is not the only ra i work on....
but if the evo pully fits i could buy one w/ the harmonic balancer.... let see your research about this pulley.... no pressure

If it remains the same size gains would not be as much although it may only be the difference in a few HP. So this is still a very worthwhile upgrade.

If you don't need a belt then yes it would cost less. Although I have no actual pricing information yet, let's just keep it simple and say less than $100.

Going from a 7" Round piece of steel to a 7" round piece of aluminum would save lots of weight. It will help the engine rev quicker and still be good for more power. I may be able to talk them into making both pullies. I cannot confirm this until I get the stock pulley in there for them to look at and identify what possibilities they can machine. This will be worthwhile in either form.

Testing will begin once my EVO intakes gets in because my car is not on the road right now...so once mine is working then I can let the RA sit while the pulley is being sent out. Sorry to keep you guys waiting, although I am glad I did because it has made 20+ interested people that will buy a pulley which means interest is there, it is just time for me to show the results and start selling them. I would expect 1st or 2nd week of July has a good ship/sell date. As you can see if you have any questions I am more than glad to answer.

Thumbs up

I can't wait to hear back from you after the testing phase then!

I hope you'll be able to keep the price a good nutch under 100 US$ though... I know it doesn't make that much of a difference to you but 80 US$ is about 100 CAN$ while 100 US$ is about 125 CAN$. So it makes a bigger difference for us up here...

[ Yes, I know most of you guys couldn't care less about canadian currency, exchange rates and such. Nonetheless, it's quite an important thing to factor in for me. ]

Thanks for your answers Joe... and for a good deal of patience too!

Well now I updated my City you will see I am closer to you so I will for sure let you do a local pickup! Why don't you come over to miEVO.net too and become a member.

Yes, workz I care about the exchange rates because when I go to windsor I want the most for my exchange rates. Also keep in mind though that shipping to Canada will cost a few more dollars too. I will try to price them like I have already discussed in the post.

Yeah, I can't wait till we get some dynos for this. Definitely worth the money if we get at LEAST 5whp.

... I care about Canadian currency.
