They can say as little or as much about their existing or up and coming products as they like because frankly it's just a courtesy to us that they keep us informed on their progress anyway. Just because either group took the time to snap a pic of some headers and answer the same damned question about what exhaust scenarios these will bolt up to, in no way means they signed up to get bossed around and disrespected on the basis you may one day buy a part or two from them.
agreed ! , thats what i have been tryin to say, thanks for clearing that up.
and your right i will i exercise my right as a consumer , but i didnt say i wouldnt by it . i just like to nag over pricing and if there is any time or place to do it , its here lol. the web site is were i do my business lol

and hey , like i said befor i like both designs , and i faith in both companies , but i still think the price is to high .

good chat fellas !!!

Actually I'd say $575 is a little high but not unreasonable for a header with a high-flow cat that bolts in without needing to weld it. I'd consider it at this price as long as there were comparatively impressive gains. I'm pretty sure that a header alone on a 4 banger for just about any other car usually starts in the $400 range, so I see it as about a $50 premium.

Did I touch on a nerve or something? All I did was call BS on RRM and RPW for dragging their feet and "marketing". I keep hearing about ppl stealing ideas from other companies but I haven't seen any original parts from either one! I'm seeing some parts that are allready available for a freaking Suzuki Samuari people. In case you didn't notice, it worked. RPW nailed a price down and explained (something RRM refuses to do btw) what was going on. I don't have a problem with delays if they're rational, and reasonable. They had races going on locally and had a ton of business and said so before hand. RRM has yet to explain anything and as of Feb 9th:

No waiting for pretend project cars to get done or group buys!

ROAD/RACE
All I can say is accolade motorsports is a different division of Accolade and RRM is definately a different division of RRE...
I keep losing respect on an almost daily basis for Rock but I'm cutting him some slack due to the extra hardware he's having to pack around but that only goes so far. You can't explain everything with painkillers.

Remember what Ralliart is all about:

The Spirit of Competition.

and now I'll probably have to start a new account for bashing on the RRM gods with their own words, but at least I'm being honest to myself about all this. First SDS, now RPW. Do I have to knuckle under to RRM because they pay more as a sponsor? I'd really like for all the rules to apply to ALL the people even if they do pay the bills. No vendor bashing or personal attacks should apply across the board and yes I realize that this is a personal attack but I plead self defense. I'm fighting for a decent board where people can have their opinions and point out options other than "shut up", "buy brand X, they did something cool once and it might make you cool by association", I thought we bought Ralliarts because we thought a little different than everyone else. Why should I start conforming now?

Have fun guys and try not to lose your temper like I just did but I'm sick of Really Really Milking flunkies jumping on anyone that stands up for something that doesn't have their stamp on it.

Rip the system!!!!!

You didn't touch a nerve, you just sound like these guys owe you something. Everyone can agree with you, it sucks to wait. You're making it sound like these two companies are part of this large corporate conglomerate that gets their kicks outta watching us squirm. What if they just have other stuff going on that keeps the R/A from being their number one priority? Ya Ralliart means spirit of competition, but neither of these guys works for Ralliart (the R&D mitsu division). These guys are smaller companies in the grand scheme of things. I think it's awesome you are just trying to keep them honest and on track. I think its great they are taking the time to make stuff for our cars. It just kinda seems like you are smacking them in the face to get an answer out of them, I think you're nicer than that and they deserve better, thats all. No need for name calling, or bad feelings, I don't mean to offend, just trying to do the same as you - keep things in perspective.

okay I've pm'd you to squash the trash but I will reply to why I get aggravated with vendors here where everyone can judge.

Yes they do owe me something. Here's why: If you make an appointment, you want it to be kept don't you? Every company works on deadlines, even McDonalds will fire you for being too late with a McRib sandwich (I know). I'm just applying pressure from an external source since I'm not part of their company. I'm sure neither one of them lost sleep over my posts and if they did they need some perspective (I'm just an anonymous keyboard in the crowd people) in their life. I can only hope that I was partially responsible for helping them aspire to their current heights.
As far as pricing goes, would you have signed your car note without knowing how much it was going to cost? Of course price was a factor in buying a RA vs ES or EVO, it fell right between both in cost and performance making it "fit". I guarantee that both companies had a general idea about how much x amount of 2.25" piping would cost along w/ flanges and collectors.
The marketing comes in with supply vs demand and I can't stand an artificial demand. Have you ever seen a cabbage patch kid, tickle me Elmo, or furby? They don't get their "kicks" from making us squirm, they get dollars and spend those to get their kicks. RRM has allready said that a port to tip system should be in the neighborhood of a grand and they've released the price on their catback, how much more effort is it to set a price on that last little component?
I'm not trying to offfend half the board here or anything, I just want what's been promised in a reasonably close time to when it was supposed to be released. Hell I'm still waiting for a jumper harness LOL!

I totally agree with everything you are saying.

The way I look at it in addition to what you are saying though is that if i were one of these little guys making this stuff, I'd feel somewhat unappreciated by some of the guff they catch is all.

I'm glad you're rattling the cage! Just don't wanna shake it off the stand entirely

Holy CRAP, just reading all the post so far, $575 for this header, huh.....not gonna happend, it's all very nice to bring out somthing like that, but for the money, you won't see any significant HP gains with this header enough to convince me to buy it, IMO save the money and invest it in a Turbo, not a header you'll be much happyer you did........just my 2 cents!

Ya, I have nearly $1K saved up, and I have been trying to figure out the best way to spend it on the car - all kinds of different combos come to mind, but with RPW finishing their turbo work here shortly, and the possibility of buying a kit in pieces I'll likely buy their emanage setup first, then just buy the stage one (looks like it may cost as little as 3K if its similar to their current 2.0 gear). Then just buy the stage two upgrade like six months down the road. I dig having that flexibility option, I just hate having to wait longer and save up more. I'm damned horrible with money.

I can't truly speak for the Ralliarts but on my Lancer the RPW header has been the single most effective performance mod. Hand downs. If you want to stay NA then the Header is what is going to be your biggest power adder besides tuning.
If the header made such a drastic difference on a 2.0 Lancer then I would expect it to do even better for the Ralliarts.

I shaved off nearly half a second on my 1/4 mile times from the header alone.

You guys say what you want about prices. If it is worth it in performance you would pay it. If you don't want to pay the 575 then don't buy the highflow cat.

I didn't as it wasn't an option when I bought mine but I have not one day been disappointed by the performance of my headers.

the 2.0L lancers had an exhaust manifold if i recall. upgrading to a header is a big difference. we already have a decent stock header.

While i would expect some gains, especially from the downpipe integration and highflow cat, it wont be as drastic. But its a necessary building block if you plan on doing front-end mods like intake work and cams. i do agree with Modern though. For the end price of a solid NA setup, for a bit more, you can go turbo if the RPW kit will be priced in the same range as the 2.0 kit. We'll see!

Either way, the fact that RPW actually develops more than one version of their products while testing before they decide on a final product and tests the variations on a dyno shows me that they are actually ENGINEERING products for performance as opposed to just hacking a product together using educated guesses tahts might be 'better than stock'. I dont see how a company can say they never dynoed a product and expect the consumers to have any faith in them. thats just plain ignorance. the detail we've been seeing from RPW is appreciated.

My point was superior performance design is superior performance design.

I agree with you if you say the gains may not be as drastic according to the stock header design on the Ralliarts, but the design has already been proven to work. However RPW tweaks it to fit the Ralliart will depend on the extent of the improvements. It's only my opinion, so take it for whatever it's worth.

You gotta get air (and fuel) in and you gotta get it out as fast as possible to maximize any other mods. On a stock RA, no it's not worth the money. If you plan on adding air and fuel by whatever method (cam, porting, nitrous, whatever) you need a way to get it out of the engine in a more efficient manner than the stock manifold and downpipe. Maybe some people aren't realizing that this "header" is in reality almost half the exhaust system! It's priced right in there with RRM's proposed system as well and if VRS had the right OZ template when they did Blk-majiks exhaust last year (was it a 100% matchup btw?) then anyone should be able to customize the rest of their exhaust as they see fit for about the same price. It really depends on what route you want to go and in what order.

I could be just blind and missed it, by why is everyone so conserned with price and no one asking the gains, i think thats more important.
