ACCOLADE - RPW 4-1 Header System Prototype Pics Released !
just to add to this I picked up the car late yesterday and immediately took it to the track, unfortunately we only managed 2 runs in over 4 hours - so many people and cars it was rediculous.... I had previously gotten a 15.9 as a stock car, on my second run last night I got a healthy 15.7 I know this may not seem much but seeing as it is the first time I have driven the car in over a month and with a new exhaust system it was difficult to gauge the right launch rpm I had only launched the car at 2000rpm's which is a bit light on... I don't like to pull numbers out of thin air but I beleive that if I had of launched the car at a higher rpm point of 2500rpm I would of been looking at between 15.5 - 15.6 seconds
The trip home was good as it is fair distance to travel to get used to something so new (180klm/120mile).... found that the car pulled very nicely all the way throu the revvs ( attacking some hills) it never felt like it was running out of legs at all what I did find was that I can usually feel the MIVEC change over which is quiet pronounced when going from second to third but this time it was not as noticeable.... but was still there I think what was happening was that because the power/torque is so noticeable at lower rpm it just continues all the way through...
Later today after I have given the car a bath will take it out for another drive and see what else I have missed in how the car feels
but so far I am extremely happy with the results nice early power which lasts longer thro the revs there is a definate improvement over the crappy stock ones and the sound is amazing can't wait to go for another drive today
For you David
well done it was certainly worth the wait to get something this good

The 15 is not too bad considering that we have only put a header and full exhaust on the car.... there have been no other mods no CAI, no Cam, no bigger injectors, no tuning, no under pully, no clutch line swap, no bored out fuel rails... it is a drop of official time of only .250 of a second but due to me only having the car for 2 runs and not having driven the car for over a month I thought it not too bad, if I had the opportunity to do a couple more runs I am very confident that the car would of knocked off a total of .400 of a second off stock car performance
Thats ok I understand hey I would be disapointed too if I had all the gear and only got that sort of time... Just as a side note I should of mentioned that my 60ft time was 2.267 not too bad but again when I launced at only 2000rpm there was no wheel spin so a launch at 2500rpm would possibly see some spin but could give me a 2.100 second 60ft time... I am just disappointed that I could not get the third run in
Ohh nearly forgot something which is quiet relevent as to how the headers helped with the torque... usually when racing you find yourself at the end of the 400mt quarter mile and are just about to cross the line and also at the point of changing into fourth.... I found that I was about 50mt/150ft? away from the finish line and finding that I had run out of rpms (6500rpm) and had to shift to fourth... this tells me that the car is revving that much better more freer than with the stock exhaust manifold
man you need to get some better times up here , to give us a better idea of the progress cause that just seems sad, i understand that you didnt drive it in like a month and every thing but i avrage at least a 15.5 every time i go to the track , bone stock with extra weight in the trunk from my speaker box and a baby car seat in the back lol .
not doggin yah, not at all . i just would like to have seen a better time. i figured since i was avrageing a 15.5 stock , the headers would atleast brought us down to like a 15-15.2 or should i not expect those kind of gains from just the headers?

Our australian models are only 160hp factory and we run two cat converters, one in the header and another further back. Also all testing done to date is with stock panel filter and air box. So of course, with a cold air intake / K&N package gains woudl be higher.
Okay updates for everyone.
Firstly - sad news, Greddy emanage is a no go. Just not compatible. Tried every way sorry.
Second - good news. Haltech interceptor is definitly compatible and working well.
thirdly - good news - going onto the dyno disafternoon with luck or tomorrow morning. Dyno was booked out yesterday and dismorning to compare the headers and a bit of tuning with the haltech to see what further gains we can get out.
Okay most importantly , pricing and buying, I know everyone has been waiting on this.
We have confirmed that an introductory group buy has been organised with Accolade. They have put there money where there mouth is, and pre purchasing 20 ceramic coated sets of RPW 4-1 racing design extractors. This can be supplied with or without a cat converter.
The price for these ceramic coated sets - which will be organised as a group buy, Ie first 20 people in will get them at this pricing.
The units will be sold for $450.00 US$ without the cat converter and $570.00 US$ with the high flow cat converter. This price does not include local freight within the USA. THis is of course a bumper price, and we will be at the same time, combining our RD headers for the lancer range in with this package as it is being sent via sea freight on a pallet to ensure freight costs are being kept low.
Note this price will be including frieght to the USA already built nito it. The only freight charges additional will be from the Accolade warehouse in the USA to your door.
The normal RRP price of these is as per our normal pricing, same as the 2.0 lancer kits but because Accolade is pre purchasing them etc we have been able to do a massive discount on the pricing and have also done a deal with a ceramic coating company locally.
I am sure by now everyone has seen the photos but just in case - here they are. As everyone can see they are a seamless 4-1 long tube design, with bolt on fittings. There are no external welding, and they are mandrel bent with smooth bends in them, no sharp elbows etc.
Feel free to make comments, Accolade will be setting up the group buy in the next few hours, just after we release the dyno reports on the units with our current state of testing.

well done guys, as mentioned previously Accolade SportParts a free and independent division.. is placing the large order and prepaying this..
Judging from what I have seen so far from RPW, I expect nothing but the best from what we will recieve, we will be posting more details in the ralliart vendor classifieds on the group buy and payment options once RPW goes public with their dyno report.
