Second - good news. Haltech interceptor is definitly compatible and working well.
You had said that the Haltech solution was great for N/A. Do you have an alternative to the e-manage for the upcoming turbo kit, or will the interceptor work? Any updates on when you believe the stage 1 turbo kit might be ready?

To answer your questions - the ceramic coating will be a grey colouer, the test headers just have a high tempature blue coating on them.

The haltech will handle yes a turbo application, with the ability to control some extra injectors and slightly larger stock injectors.

No2 control is easy to arrange with the ability to retune fuel and ignition curves.

You can also do things like tune for air tempature compensation (Especially with NO2) etc.

The turbo manifold prototype is being finished this week, then we need to finish our dump pipe and then fit up to the car and do some tuning and testing work. So its moving along nicely.

What do you expect the Interceptor package to cost?

We will market the interceptor package for round $700.00 US$ which will include all the setup for the 2.4 mivec engines, wiring loom etc.

Okay good news everyone - we have just got back from the dyno with some power figures and I am quite happy. I will be doing a full analysis tonight when I get home, scan the dyno printout etc but in summary here are the results.

The vehicle with our first prototype headers with te 1 1/2"diameter headers, high flow cat converter and 2 1/2" press bent exhaust has topped out at 163.5hp and 203.72 nm Torque.

This is an increase of 8hp / 4nm torque over the stock vehicle + exhaust, or 12hp / 5nm torque over stock car 100%

This was all done with no corrections, drive in drive out and with a complete stock air intake system incl stock paper filter on all three dyno runs.

We have worked out that the combination of exhaust and extractors has netted a 10% gain at the wheels over stock.

The interesting thing so far, is that the more we mod the car, the richer it is running on the air fuel ratio under power, we aer now down to 12.0 : 1 above 4000 rpm which shows that with some tweaking, this car has some hidden power there waiting to be used.

Our next test will be with the larger 1 3/4" diameter headers to see if there is any further restrictions there. We will not be testing it without a cat converter.

Again full specs, sheets and diagnosis will be up on our website at the end of tonight when i get home and scan the sheets.

This is probably an awful can of worms to open up but.... What would be the differences between the Interceptor package and the RRM piggy? Obviously, the tuning software, but is that essentially it? Is one particular device more capable of growing into an F/I setup than another? Again sorry for having so many questions, but I'm sure they are going to get asked....again and again and again. At any rate, thanks to any and all feedback anyone can throw up here.

well in summary I don't know a lot about the RRM piggy back setup but the Haltech interceptor will have teh following details

1 - full control on fuel curve at something like 30 rpm points
2 - full control on ignition curve at something like 30 rpm points
3 - you can either use the hot wire sensor or MAP sensor on the ralliart to tune the ignition curve points for finer control (Especially if you are going turbo)
4 - duel mapping - ability to tune for two different fuels, or if you want to run NOS a NOS map and seperate ignition / fuel curves for NOS setup
5 - The ability to alter the mivec change over point (Still to test this function)
6 - can run up to 4 other functions like a water sprayer, NOS solenoids etc
7 - can run seperate air intake tempature mapping (Especially for turbo) for fuel and ignition
8 - won't effect cold start or idling cause you can set the load % or rpm % before the unit starts altering the settings

I think this covers everything.

Use this link to check the software out - very friendly to use once you become familiar with it. For most people they wouldn't need to touch 75% of this as we would set it all up first.

Cool thank you for all the feedback!

PR_Mivec - I am totally willing to accept they are completely different, I just don't know enough about either device to know how.
