Should I start a new thread about all these MODS together ? I mean this was just for the cyl head?

nah, it's your thread, and there is tons of information about the cylinder head here. why clutter it up with another thread?

Now AFTER you install everything, that's another story. we may need to discuss that in some MAJOR detail

Tomorrow I will receive the intake manifold, and start the porting cleaning and coating, I will try to finish this too by friday...

What color you guys think its better to use (the same red as the valve color)
It will be ceramic coated on the bottom and on the flange side to retain heat from the cyl head, the top part should not be coated cause that's where the air flows from outside of the engine after that I will paint it in red or perhaps other color

First, I think you will get around 210HP/207TQ before tuning, afterwards plus other tricks I say it may jump to around 232 HP @ 6800rpm and around 225 TQ at 5000rpm.

2nd, if I were to paint the IM, I would go for black (for the sleeper yet there's gotta be something in there look ).

Good luck man!

I am also changing mine to 240 and 250 at 7200 and 5600. I am not going to tell why I am chaning, that's for migueralliart to explain if he feels like it. I will say I can't be declared "winner" unless he releases the information though

so the new list is

Dan - 240WHP/250TQ horsepower at 7200RPM and TQ at 5600.
Che - 240WHP/240TQ horsepower at 6700RPM and TQ at 5200
PR_M - 242HP/240TQ

Max: 225whp / 219tq @ 6600rpm
rdc - 232 HP @ 6800rpm 225 TQ at 5000rpm

What the compression going to be? Will porting, slight grind and protecting from heat turn a 160 (non-wheel) hp into a beast? I am really really excited to see what happens, but I have lower expectations. Migue, are you going to measure on a dyno when you're complete? I'm going for 195/200 @ 6000.
IMO, in a NA engine, power is trapped in the heads and we already have a moderately high compression engine. Unless we lower the CC's of the heads, I dont see tons of power being produced without forced induction, then we risk detonation right? I guess grinding the cam will give a gain at higer rpm?
We all owe Migueralliart a cold beer in the end!!!

absolutely

every thing we have done to allow more airflow in this engine has produced much better than anticipated gains. the cam alone netted around 20whp with minor breathing mods, brings it up to around 170whp with regular mods. figure IM port is what, 15 minimum? he's rebuilding everything in the head, and porting and polishing it, 30whp maybe? these all work together remember, so you can be somewhat generous with estimates. add up just these things, with exhaust from manifold back and all the regular bolt ons, you will get to 225. He has other things going on besides this stuff too, such as EGR elimination and a few others he has not disclosed, probably some he and I haven't spoken about as well. Right Orlando

Of course a Kung Fu master never reveals all his secrets otherwise He wouldn't be called master hehe LoL just kidding. Drew you are right about your thinking people tend to do that and its natural, but you gotta remember that building an engine its all about combinations. All the mods DISCUSSED where made so that the engine can suck CRAZY amounts of air , (camshaft+CAI+header+porting) . I see the gains like this :

MITVRX had 23 whp from just a camshaft . Add to that a CAI , ud p and thats another 15 hp. Add ported IM CYL HEAD + lighnetenned flywheel and all the mods . The guy that's making the camshaft called me today, and believe me he knows his ****. He told me our cams have a BIG advantage and that is the HIGH LIFT lobe. Since the engine does not use it below 3500 you can modify it and still drive the car below that rpm and retain MPG. But however since the 2 main lobes have different lift if he were to modify only the third once the MIVEC kicks in I am gonna feel a strong response from the engine in terms of torque. And believe me Torque is my main concern here. TORQUE IS THE ONE THAT HELPS YOU OBTAIN YOUR TOP SPEED FASTER. Also he asked me my header inner diameter, asked me if the head was ported , if the IM was ported, if I HAD a CAI, he asked me how I wanted the power band increase (which interval) , what was my new redline, IF I wanted to run NOS how big was the shot, all the valve and engine info such as valve sizes materials and COATINGS, Piggy info and how does it adjusts, etc. The guy has a computer lab as his machine shop so expect this camshaft to perform really well. My main goal here was 250 WHP and I will drop the sky while tunning to do it, I am gonna advance timing throw some fuel and enjoy the movie ...... IF I can get there, I might be purchasing something special from RIPP hehehe just to add 100HP or perhaps I will just add a progressive NOS system.

To the guy trying to bash me asking when I am gonna install all of this;

My return date is August 2 HOWEVER all this stuff will be sent on a BIG *** crate to PR because honestly is cheaper, so it will arrive a little sooner than me maybe July 16-20. My brother owns a garage in PR so hes gonna start installing these parts. I will try my best to finish all this stuff by the end of june and take a pic of everything just for the fun of it.

REMEMBER THE LIST is just a feeler there are TOP secret **** here too
1-CYl HEAD (ported + ceramic)
2- Camshaft (modded) NEW REDLINE 7500RPM
3- Intake Manifold (ported + ceramic) with EGR delete
4- Injen CAI
5- 2nd SMT-6 (this time I will do a write up)
6- Enlightenned Stock Flywheel + stage 1 or 3 CLUTCH (not sure still deciding)
7- 1-3/4 inch runners 4-1 Custom Header
8- 2.5 inch full exhaust with HF cat resonator and mufflerALL MAGNAFLOW
9- UD PULLEY (RRM)
10- Throttle Body (ported) + coolant lines delete
11- AEM 4G64 pulley set (alternator + water pump + steering pump)
12- Enlarged Bore Stock Fuel RAIL
13- Possibility of new Injectors?

I WILL BE RUNNING 93 OCTANE ++
