ok, you do know you can turn the EGR check off via ECUFlash, right? I have EGR, EVAP, etc all off and turned them off using ECUFlash. Hope this helps!

Well, I do have an Evo - not sure how off ralliarts are!

Before anyone starts going ***** nilly and eliminating critical aspects of the engine that are universally accepted by engineers throughout the world who have thought about this way more than you have, think about why they implemented this system and what tradeoffs you're incurring when you start changing it.
This.

It actually reduces your chances of detonation, runs cooler and cleaner. I'm pretty sure the habit of removing the EGR comes from older cars when those systems were less efficient and more parasitic. This is not the case here.

Super Street magazine has dyno-proven a loss of something like 1-2% whp when taking off the EGR. I'll try to look for the article after work.

The logic in it is that the ECU will retard timing with higher chamber temperatures to reduce the chance of knock.

Pics , sorry this wasn't something that I really found interesting so I didn't research any pics. Don't put cheap gas in your car and you won't get a lot of build up anyway (which I haven't put since day one)
