Hackish ECU Reflash Review

I give you credit for wanting to try it out.
I also give credit to anyone that can reflash an ecu with modest results. If it was easy everyone would be doing it.
I see in a previous post "ECU Swap on 4G69: '05 to '04" that Cyanide has "fried my OEM ECU because of a bad connection I did on an ECU relay", and also says the replacement ECU from a different year has caused the car to behave abnormally in many operating scenarios.
?!?
Maybe his claimed lack of performance has nowt to do with a Works or Hackish reflash.

Its new technology and has to be tried and tested. Look at my car the reflash is running my turbo just perfectly. I am sure that there are some differences in the years. He will get it sorted out and has great customer satisfaction. Like anthing new will take some time to perfect.
The Works reflash is not out yet. I will get my car to the dyno very soon. I think it's pretty awesome that there's alot of chatter on the reflash. As one of the first people to publicly get it I like to consider myself a pioneer. In the next few weeks or so I will pony up the cash and dyno it, after some maintenance. We should all hold off on speculations and assumptions until we get more dyno numbers from more members. As Ott Ralliart says this is very new technology and yes there's bound to be hiccups. Think of it as a scientific experiment, we need a "similar cluster of data points" to consider that a valid result, but I will not denounce cyanide's results as well. He's the only one to date that had the mettle to dyno his whip.

This thread talks about the NA reflash, on which not many dyno graphs or video have popped up...
Now, I know this is not a vendor post, thread or whatever, but there is a forum rule I'm abiding to until others can come up with something close to my results.
The fact is that, some have bought the NA reflash, but almost none have shown dyno runs. I've searched for dyno graphs, but all I could find was for 1 RA and 1 Galant, both of which were posted by the creators and developers of the Reflash.

Almost everybody else have just done some "butt dyno'ing" and tell us how great it feels. When I ran it for the first time, a difference could be felt, but it was all for the higher rev limiter, nothing else.
If I were to post my results, then I would be the first one unrelated to the creators to post them (but correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't found any others). And, since I don't gain anything from showing them, but have already "LOST" $450 (+ $200 for a spare ecu), I have no need to post them (yet)...
You may interpret this post as you like...
I talked to Hackish today about this issue. Before he puts the RIPP SC kit my so he can establish a SC tune we will convert my car back with a SRI and cat back exhaust, then do a NA reflash video both results. Not sure when this is going to happen as I wont be in town for a few weeks and he will get on this as soon as I get back.
Not sure why there is a difference but I am sure he will get to the bottom of it.

I looked at the dyno sheets. The AFR did as it was supposed to. Without having tested on their fuel in PR it's pretty hard to say what the results would be. You also have to run the ECU for a while before it's going to be good to dyno - the reason is that the timing map will start out in exactly the same place as stock and it will gradually advance to the max values so long as no knock is heard. I used a similar approach on the Mazda 3. Every pass we did on the dyno showed a few more hp. First pass put the same numbers down but the 5th pass it was up by 12whp.
I said that I'd be more than happy to take the ECU back and see if the timing adjustments just got missed but he didn't want to send it back. All I can do is wait for a local guy who dyno'd it to get the reflasher and read his map out.

hey guys im kinda new to the reflash idea im more of a piggy guy cause its re-programable at my will. But i was wondering if you could reflash the rev limiter up to 7000rpm...but leave everything else stock so i could continue to use the piggy?
Sure. Why not get a proper reflash done then take your piggyback, zero out all it's settings and go from there? The more percent you go away from the stock computer's settings the worse it fights you.
