Yup, some old ******* rear ended me today. I was stopped at a stop light, with about 6 cars infront of me before the light. Dead stop. Some dumb old **** in a late 80's POS slams into the back of me at probably 35mph. didnt even tap his breaks. then he asks why i slammed on my breaks. WTF?!?! RED LIGHT! STOPPED FOR OVER 60 SECONDS! I think the guy was kinda outa it. Wanted to leave like 3 times, couldnt remember his address or phone number. his tags were over a year expired.

Well, he didnt clip the side or anything. Hit dead on. My rear bumper was laying on the road, torn to ****, rebar collapsed, trunk collapsed, muffler exploded (custom exhaust too), exhaust dragging on the ground, trunk lid pushed up about 6", spoiler all messed up, both rear fenders pushed up. Air bag sensors pushed in, but bags didnt deploy (yet). I think all the glass is fine.

And my back hurts like hell. Just got back from the ER and 24/7 walgreens to get some meds. My girl was riding /w me and she had x-rays and stuff and her shoulder is really bothering her. I'm probably gonna have to go see an orthopedic and we will prob both have to do PT for a bit. great.....

and to top it all off, I was supsed to go to Jamaica tomorrow to do some work and make $83,000 for it. Well, thats out of the questions by the looks of things!

Dude, that really sux major *****....at least ur still alive and functioning. Man, some people should not have their license.....especially some stupid old person who cant even use his brakes. I hope he had insurance so his old *** can pat for ur ride and ur medical bills! Good luck man and feel better!

broham!! That effing sucks. Tell me you called the cops and they took his a$$ away in cuffs. I hate crap like "why did you slam on your brakes?!" As if there's ever a reason that the person rearended is at fault.... do you know how many witnesses this guy would need to prove in court that you were at fault for a rearend?
Did you hit anyone when he hit you? I hope not, because that would suxor on top of the rear end damage- you'd probably be found for "following too close" and would be at fault for the collision "you caused" whne you got hit.

Anyway- glad to hear you survived. Hopefully you guys won't need any physical therapy or be on meds too long.
Keep us posted. That's a lot of damage.... are you hoping for total or not? If it's a total, any thought on what you're buying next?

thx guys. yea, i had the cops come. they gave the guy a hard time, but not hard enuf in my opinion.

nah, didnt hit anyone else. i left at least 5 feet in front, and i think the light turned green just as he hit, so the cars started moving about the same time. just rear damange, no front or sides. dunno if its 'totaled' or not, but its not out of question. depends on what happened to the bottom and trunk. I hope its not, caus i dont think i have GAP coverage and its not even a year old. I would prob get less out than I owe! if it is, i'll prob look for a used RA.

I hope you get feeling better, it is always worse when your the person getting hit, becuase then you cant expect it. I am glad to know you are doing alright. Post some pictures of the damage when you can and I will tell you what I think. If it is more thank 10k worth of damage they may total it, furthermore you may want them to total it because fixing a car that is really messed up can almost lead to problems down the road. The insurance company may be able to find you a used RA and pay the difference. They should give you up to the NADA book value for Retail. That should come real close to what you owe. If that doesn't cover it you coudl sue the old fart for damages and the difference to offset a downpayment and to pay off your exisitng note. I am sure you would win.

I'm sorry about your bad luck buddy, Take it from me I've already had one totalled RA I know how bad it sucks. But please a word of advice next time you purchase a car, always always get GAP insurance no matter what they say, it shouldn't be more then $500 or so on top of everything. GAP insurance will cover up to 150% the cost of your car, insuring you won't owe anything, Cause well lets see my 04 RA got me 18,600 minus 500 deductable..... It got totalled only after having it for a week and a half so mind you I had hardly any interest accumilated on it, And after all was said and done i still owed 2500 for tax titles and license, BTW i had gap insurance but my dealership was lacking on putting paperwork in so my gap insurance never got there 500 thus did not cover my 2500 owed, which i had to end up paying, Only to later find out when i bought my 05 RA from a different dealership that I didn't have to pay for it, Had i put up more of a fuss they just would of took the loss. Incase you ever get in that situation. Well if she does end up getting totalled out... Please Please pull out your TB assembly and sell it to me PM me its worth a couple hundred to me. I don't think you'll be able to get it through the dealership, But if it is possible your going to have to go through your fiancer. Only time you can get gap through dealership is at paperwork signing.
