this may be off topic but NFS Most Wanted is awesome lol.Hey 2k4 the only reason why i got my RS was because monthly it was cheaper than my ES. I pam paying $470 a month for my Evo i cant remember how much for my ES but it was more than my RS which is why i got it.

Yes!!! NFS Most wanted is by far the most enjoyable roleplaying Racing game! EVER....Has a good transition between gameplay and story.

Btw....how the hell was a es (base lancer) more money per month then your RS evo?

it was my first car could not put really anything down on it...so my monthly was pretty high and i could not refinance. I traded in my ES after putting on aftermarket stuff engine, interior and exterior, the dealer ship said they would take the car for 8k and just took it off my hands really since i owed on it. Got my RS for around 24k new the guy gave me a deal and i was able to refinance twice which lowered my monthly to around $470.

Somehow it got on the topic of the 500whp ralliart because some other evo guy said something. Like i said before 500whp ralliart is awesome...and no i dont think the evo is the god or all cars.
I never said you put down the ralliart, and I understand you gave him your opinion, but your attacking mine when you fail to realize that we both gave him the same opinion (choose the evo). Also, I don't agree the evo is god of all cars either, the r34 gt-r takes that title, it's not called "godzilla" in japan for nothing.

It's called sarcasm, don't think to hard into it, you'll have a stroke.

Cleaned up the thread. It's really beyond me why some very immature people put so much effort into arguing on the internet. I deleted every post by the two problem users. I'm not going to waste my time trying to weed through what was a valid post and what wasn't. Grow up and keep it on topic, this isn't a battle of who's more blessed in the pants.

I know that you can make the ralliart every bit as fast as the evo. The potential is there. But I think if I was put in your situation, I have a gut feeling that I'd know what I wanted to do.

I'd get the Evo, But heres why.

In my Ralliart nobody tries to race me. Maybe this is the area that I'm in, but people that actually try to race me is like once in a blue moon. I know that this varies greatly in different areas but to me, there isn't a whole lotta validity for me in the uber sleeper. The only advantage I see is that the ralliart has a lower profile appearance and dosen't attract nearly as much attention from the popo. That means you can use some of the speed and actually get away with it. Thats really up to you. Some people are obsessed with the low key sleeper. Ralliarts are much less common, so you would have something that stood out from the rest, something that nobody else has. So there are a few things going for the Ralliart but here's some solid reasons why the Evo is gonna be my pick.

Handling. Unless you mod the hell out of the ralliart, and even then, you arent' gonna out handle the legendary evo. It dosen't just have the HP, but its built for the corners as well. The Evo's handling and suspension are razor sharp. I don't think that given the current aftermarket, you're going to see a ralliart outhandle an evo. Sure you can make the ralliart as fast as the evo in drag racing but no modding is going to make the rear wheels of the Ralliart spin unless you have some magic beans or something.

Leather. Evo has it. Honestly, I feel that the lancer platform is a little lackluster on the interior but the leather makes up for it a good bit, especially with the recaros.

Street Cred. I hate that term, but ralliart owners just don't get the respect of EVO owners. Sure you might earn it after you smoke someone, but in general, i'd prefer people to see my car and instantly say "damn thats an EVO", and know that if they try to race me, I'll smoke them.

Modability.
For every piece of equipment that we ralliart owners have, Evo owners have ten times that amount. Is there potential for the ralliart, hell yeah. But apparently, you've never seen an 800hp evo. I have. Evos have nearly limitless potential WITH the aftermarket to actually back that potential up.

Warranty. Not only is your MR probably going to beat a turbo ralliart off the line, but it can do so without voiding the warranty. Sure you can mod it, but I like the fact that I can have a powerful turbo car and still be able to take it back to the dealer.

I know that there aren't many turbo ralliarts out there, but there also aren't that many MR's out there too. I know what you're going through, but i'd suggest dropping the mental issues and go with the better performer. You'll be happy you did.

EDIT: Oh, I'd like to point out that theres about a $10 thousand dollar difference between a Turbo Ralliart and an EVO MR. I'd say you get what you pay for. A turbo ralliart will eat WRX's for breakfast for less money too. In that price range, its a bargain. However I'm thinking that money isn't much of a big deal otherwise this thread would be Ralliart vs. EVO IX GSR. A turbo ralliart is a great car for the money. But if you can afford it, the IX is better. And with the new MIVEC its awsome. I've seen the Vids of the EVO IX handing the STi its *** stock to stock in the twisties and straights.
Do you need more ?Everything has been said ^^^^

Its clear the best option is the evo

Thanks Otter for cleaning it up.

Thanks to everyone for their input. I'm about 1 and 1/2 months from finding out exactly what kind of money I'm looking at but I am going to go with the IX MR if I get what I should be getting. That, and a house in British Columbia.

I'm not going to read through this entire thread to see if there is a reply. I take exception to this statement. Handling is incredible in an Evo yes, but if you put an actual set of tires on the RA as opposed to the OEM garbage goodyears, the handling in the RA is certainly better then average.

Regardless, if I had 35k in disposable income and I have to buy a car with it, there's no way in hell I'm buying a Ralliart. For me it'd be between an Evo, an Impreza STi, or maybe even a used M3.

I just read the whole thread (I like punishment)......and here is my 2 cents (like it matters).

If it were me.....and I was going to come into some money, I would probably pay off a lot of other bills before I went and blew the wad on a new car.
But, idk.....depends on your situation I guess with life situation, job, bills, etc.
But assuming you are getting around $35k (which is about the cost of a new Evo IX MR?).....why not invest the money for awhile and build it into something a lot greater? Or pay off high interest loans first?

But......I don't know enough about you or your situation to make a suggestion on what to do. But whatever you do, good luck!

OMG " the motor is bigger in the RA " that is the single most unintelligent comment i have heard today.

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!?> it looks so bad coming from a RA owner too. you know DAMN well you'd choose the evo.

is there really any question for this for you?
OMFG--- choose the evo.
hmmm. NA engine thats turboed requires constant watching. PS u cant tune prolly good luck with that. mark my words you will blow it up.
;p
i mean do what floats your boat but HELLLO!@!!
the evo has 400 lbs in structural welds over the lancer... its also all forged interally!! the engine is about 10000x better than the RA. yes I said it, no offense... its better! i have much respect for the engine itself but CMON. its not made for BOOST HELLO

RA or EVO? hhhmmmm......if you can afford the EVO then get it. its obvious you want it. got $$$$, then join the club.

dont go buy an EVO to be pissed off that you cant do anything to it cause you dont have $$$ to play.

everyone knows.....you gotta pay to play. you wanna play w/ the big dogs, get the evo. you wanna F@#K w/ civics, stick w/ what you got.
