mivec noise

Sup guys,
so ive had my 06 ralliart for a few months but have only just got it on the road.
really like the car, i was suprised at the power for a n/a sohc engine.

i have a question though, i hear a swishing noise when the mivec engages. is this normal?
it sound to me like air entering the air filter!
the car had an injen cold air intake, but i didnt like the way its in 2 pieces so i turned it in to a short ram. im going to be adding a heat shield to the filter within the next couple of weeks.

i have never heard this before. is it normal?

thanks
Dave

I have the RRM SRI and I experience the same thing, Im assuming its just added airflow into the engine.

It sounds cool. Don't worry about it.

well if it is just added air flow into the engine then it sounds very cool indeed.

the sound you're hearing is just the air being sucked in through the intake. its normal when your car is going near redline

im sure any k&n dealer would order it for you, just measure the pipe diameter on the intake tube.

buy an AEM dry filter....save you alot of headache in the end. Buy the 2.5x5 filter.

well i would buy the rrm filter, but its 50 bucks a pop all the time. rather spend the money on a washable/cleanable filter.
