selling ralliart

I hate to do it, but my RA has to go. I'm paying payments of ~300 a month, with a year and a half to go, and we can't afford it. It's the most fun car I've ever owned, and I planned to keep it long term.

I have a friend that will buy it for what I owe on it. It'll be a great deal for him, I'm under $5000, and it's only got 75,500 miles on it. He gave me an old truck last year, so I'm glad to return the favor.

Since I got the truck I've been driving it, and my wife got the ralliart after we sold her Odyssey (and got rid of the first payment). Her mom is going to let us drive her 99 Accord coupe, so after we change the timing belt and clutch in the Accord, we'll be free of payments and insurance for a while.

It's pretty ironic; I traded a 95 Accord wagon for my 04 Sportback. The accord was paid for, but was going to need some work. I didn't think it made sense to put much money in that accord. Now I'm back in an accord with higher mileage that also needs repairs.

ouch...460? Mine are about 265 but I up it to 300 every month so I can pay it off sooner. I have a year left. Originally was a 4 year loan turned into 3 year

Hopefully your friend treats the car well, I know a lot of people beat there cars I'm hoping to keep mine for many years to come, maybe keep it long enough for my kid to drool over when the time comes

Thanks for the replies. Things sure haven't worked out. By now I had planned to complete a 5 speed swap with a limited slip. The 4g69 has been the best part of it. I love the low rpm torque.

I was going to set it up as an autocross/track day car eventually. When I get a car I like, I tend to keep them a long time, and this car has so much potential.

My friend will take excellent care of it. When we lived near each other we did head swaps and engine builds together. He takes better care of his cars than anyone I've ever known. We're talking about him selling it back to me eventually.

I couldn't avoid the effect of the economy crapping out. I own a small business and I'm getting hammered.

sorry to hear it, mine's not much better, about 300 per month on the car, and 240$ per month to insure it, and it's been on blocks for almost 2 months.

I can't let her go, even when i move on to an Evo, i will keep both my lancers.

I've got you guys beat. $142 a month for payment. $270 in insurance though. I'm selling mine as soon as I can. It's been a damn good car for me but it's automatic and I'm bored with it at this point.

Just out of curiousity, what car ('10-'12) would you all say would be most equivalent to our RA? In terms of price, power, style, and/or rarity?
