Exclamation Ralli-Art vs. Si?

Stock for stock, who has the 1/4th and the 0-60? Also against those pesky ex with minor bolt ons (I/E) how do they fair against a stock ralli-art? How's the raill-art feel and handle with an intake and exhaust and a chip?

You'd be able to take down an EX, stock or minor Bolt-ons, no prob.

Si? I raced one with the previous (good) design with I/E...keep in mind I have an auto as well, and we stayed dead even until 115. So with a manual, you should be able to take an SI stock for stock.

Which gen? Previous or the modern? The modern can't even carry the torch of the previous gen.

The RA shouldn't be afraid of any EX's, unless spraying. If you are, they better have a B18 swap.

agreed, man. Honda ruined a truly fantastic machine. The one I went up against was the previous gen.

I used to have and love the si coupe (99 model), but truth is- no generation si can ever touch the ralliart- stock to stock.

Yep, you're absolutely right. Same hp with much less torque...it's no contest.

New SI I've met stock for stock, even with auto it was clear that the SI would have seen a world of trouble even with small bolt-on like intake!

Here's a question for the auto guys. When you race do you just floor it off the line and keep it down or do you do something to get a better launch (IE brake torque)?

I find that when I start at about 2000-2500 and let the clutch off pretty smooth it gets a really good shot off the line. If it's higher then that or I engage the clutch to quickly my tires slip. If it's lower than that I don't get enough torque to power off the line. I don't use any type of braking tricks.

Anyone can explain to me why on my 05 ralliart the Mivec kicks in at 4000rpm instead of 3500. On 2nd and 3rd gear, its very easily noticeable that im not getting anything until 4000 rpm. I hear it and I can feel it. Isnt it supposed to be at 3500 instead?

I just floor it off the line. Seems to work for me!

I'm a little suprised you slip at such low RPM's but whatever works for ya great...

As far as the new Si's go I wasn't impressed at all with them the old ones IMO are way better cars and I'm still having trouble getting over that shift comming out of the dash... (looks like the car grew a dick) I can't stand that at all and the sedan version they had looked way better than the new hatch

I've tried brake torquing, but too much peeling out... I haven't perfected it yet...
I don't exactly floor it, but let it get up to the 3500-4000 rpm area before flooring, because then when I've got it to the ground the MIVEC's working... That's what I've found kinda works the best, until I perfect my brake torque technique!!!!

Yes, but the mivec kicking in isn't automatically the peak of the power. The 2.4L feels the most powerful (to me) between 4000-4500 rpm. I can feel the mivec a bit, but I really feel it pull in the 4000s.

Yup, whatever works for ya. I do spin the wheels too much if I rev it too high while brake torqueing. I find that if I hold the brake with my left foot (note, hold it HARD) and give it some gas, then I jump off the brake and then put it down after i'm off the brakes. I just have to hope I don't spin the tires (the all seasons just don't grip that great).
LOL I tried brake torquing in my old car (carbureted 1980s heap), all it did was hesitate when I let go of the brakes.
