Have there been any reports of MRs with transmission failures? I did a bit of a search (on this forum) and all I could come up with was clutch slippage when at torque limits, no catastrophic failures whatsoever.

There seems to be a lot of speculation that this transmission is fragile, but all we have found is that it has protection programming that may or may not be tripped at a certain torque value.

Until one fails we have no idea of it's limits or even the real reason behind the lower torque limits on the RA, if it has different internals or just a match the trans to the engine thing.

As someone else said in here, the Ralliart hasn't been out that long and there are relatively few mods available so naturally no one has completely blown a transmission yet. I believe the MR hasn't been out that long either and I've yet to see any truly high HP MRs. There have been reports of clutch slippage, torque protection turning on and overheating.

Clutch slippage from caused by TCU torque protection or clutches not holding power? I'm not nessarily using the RA as an example but I would like to see what the MR trans is capable of as it has a bit more time to market (and hope fully will get leaned on more heavily)

I read about the over heating too, The mitsu targa nfld car had that problem, apparenly it was solved with some TCU tuning (by the factory type guys).

The MR has been in NA since the Spring of 08, One has been tuned to 340 WTQ (as searched on this forum), I'd like to see what if any issues that causes.

Edit * this is a good thread about the SST, theres some encouraging stuff and well some real scary stuff.....

We are Reflashing the ECU of the Ralliart at this time.

The ZChip will remain a powerful product for the Manual Transmission Evo X.

I don't care who you talked to, we are the tuner for the ZChips and developed the product with Zeitronix.

We are currently reserving ZChips for manual transmission cars for best performance.

The SST transmission is a complex system in its communication with the ecu. We can make power with the ZChip on SST cars. It is a percentage gain of what can be had on a 5sp manual car and shift quality can be affected on SST cars depending on the state of tune. This is not the case with our reflash for Ralliart 2009.

Which is why we have reserved our ECU reflash service for SST equipped vehicles MR and Ralliart at this time.

Please update info with Ralliart Info

TTP- The link that you provide mentions Ralliart but all of the description text is related to the Evo X :
eg: Raise Rev limiter (Stock is 7606rpm) (*Choose from 7650-8000rpms)
Please can you post Ralliart specific info such as Rev Limit changes. Also can you post or link to Dyno charts showing ECU reflash on a stock Ralliart.

Thanks in advance

Actually it references Evo 8-9 information. We cut and pasted over some information from our other reflash program because we were short on time.

What I can provide you is a proof source from today. We received this email just a few minutes ago.
