Thinking about Ralliart
To Amby:
Yes u should have pointed out the problems the other cars may face if u are goin to point out the tranny in the RA. The RA can handle light mods. I have no beef with u only ur comments. I am in no way anti-Subie either i actually was a STI fan b4 I got into the Evo's back when they used the GC Chassis. I still give them respect when it is due and i do commend them for upping the much needed power on the WRX but that engine does have an issue. U did single out the RA which was not a good thing to do here. Save that for the Subaru forums.

Don't forget, the transmission appears to be the weakpoint of the car. With just a reflash, TTP activated the safe mode, which drops power thus I doubt you'll be able to heavily mod the car as you say, at least at the moment. As a daily driver though, the Ralliart is a good choice.

No sir i didn't say u said the RA or the tranny was POS but the way u word things is what starts these discussion. Fine i will hop off the anti-WRX bandwagon. The MS3 and GTI u mentioned are both FWD which in stock mode have *gasp* torque steer why? cause its the nature of their drivetrain *gasp* so why not mention that? Why not say......."the GTI and MS3 do have torque steer and if modded they may create more torque steer". See? and no short story needed. Now they have an idea what to expect of all 3 cars. I never expected the TC-SST to handle big power but if needed to do the basic mods it can.

All I did was suggest he ****ing test drive the cars, I didn't say to buy any of them. For **** sakes, do I need to write a thesis for every car? I chose the WRX because it's the closest direct competitor and I chose the MS3 and the GTI because they both consistently rank high in comparisons. This doesn't require page after page to analyze and critique. It was a simple recommendation, Jesus tap dancing Christ. I even said later that the TC-SST is more than capable of handling the power you'd want on a daily driver but of course, since I didn't write a massive post outlining every car or explaining thing I said down to a tee, it was ignored.
I jus realized that u dont get what i'm sayin. OK Amby u win.

I dont see why think its BS. If he mods the RA then he has to worry about the tranny. And if he mods the GTI or the MS3 he has to worry about torque steer. Fact vs fact. Am I wrong?
That is fine, I think the idea that I need to explain every single aspect of a comment is BS, especially since other members were free to post suggestions of other cars (including *gasp* the WRX) yet they weren't instructed to provide a dissertation as to their reasoning. I didn't say which car was best, I didn't say what problems they had (other than pointing out that if the OP wanted to change the turbo, intake, exhaust and tune, the TC-SST may be a limitation, I even left that open-ended), I simply suggested he try a variety of vehicles and stated some possibilities.

Yes they did post their suggestions but they never said anything about the TC-SST and u did. So what do u expect especially if we all know u don't like it. If u had jus kept ur post simple this would not have happend. Like i said b4 the problem is the way u put things.

Ambystom01, give it a rest already! You are solely on here to clog-up this thread! Someone comes on and tells you so and they are "full of BS"...Go play an a WRX 'site and leave this place alone! You just want to 'stir the pot' and cause trouble, boost your post numbers! Read your earlier posts...Saying the SAME THING over and over-ENOUGH!!! Come on, think of the people who have to read your stuff! GET OFF!!!
Isn't it more a matter of how big he/she is modifying for? The parts you specified in your post which I know are just examples wouldn't be mind blowing as far as numbers go. I would think you would be just fine with turbo, intake, exhaust and a tune once we learn a lil' bit more about the transmission. I'm talking MR numbers or the "350" that's been thrown around. My guess is 300-350 will be at least possible in the near future? Probably using a x turbo. If you're going for anything larger then that's where the X comes in.

So because I suggested that if he plans on buying a bigger turbo, intake, exhaust and tune, the TC-SST may provide a limitation, I need to write a massive post on every car even though all I did was suggest he test drive them, not actually buy them?

That's why I said that if he all he wants is a good daily driver, the Ralliart with the Zchip from TTP would be an excellent choice. We have no idea if modifying the transmission program is even possible let alone a wise decision therefore it seems odd to advise someone to buy a car like the Ralliart if they have full intentions of performing heavy modifications (assuming of course they mean what they say).
Leaving it stock would be an excellent choice...it's not worth voiding the warranty for a few hp. If you are going all out and can pay for your consequences then by all means go for it and go big or go home, but then you really should be thinking about Evo if you are going to mod that much. Otherwise it's a nice stock daily driver.
