I don't understand the panicked nature of the OP. Something happened, Mitsu is fixing it. New cars occasionally have things go wrong with them.

I'm not gonna lie, I LOVE my car, but I can't believe something like this would happen to a car that has less than 8k miles.

I'd love to keep my car if it's fixed correctly, but something as big and important as the tranny, idk...and this dealership told me that they have never removed or replaced an SS-T tranny. How reassuring is that?

I'm just hoping for the best, and if everything turns out OK, then great...

It's a new car, built on a new platform, with a new engine and a new transmission. I'm surprised that only one has failed so far.

I also doubt that removing/installing the SST trans is all that complicated. It's all contained in the trans casing, hard for them to screw it up since they're not breaking into the trans.

and i'm not panicking...it was just a comment I had made to Jon about trading in. I've had my fair share of cars.

and Mitsu hasn't said they're fixing it yet. They simply stated that they will continue to run some more tests since some engineer in California is requesting them..

I'd obviously expect them to replace my tranny with a new one..but as of right now, that's not guaranteed. I was also told that someone high up (no one in my dealership) has to approve this kind of repair since it's a new car and the repair might be up to $15K.

I can understand being skeptical, but unfortunately someone's transmission has to fail stock, and unfortunately that was you.

Hope the repairs go well, quickly, so that you can go back to loving your RA

God I am with you on the 4G63 swap. any who hasn't always had tranny problems when I had my EVO IX the 5th gear synchro was going out. and i know DSM's tranny's where crap. but figuring that since our trannys where built in Germany not by this gave me a little hope that the RA tranny wouldn't have problems i hope this is a rare case so we don't feel like this little guy trying to shift my RA, i wish you luck alex no matter what you do, personally trade i would trade for a EVO IX again

Damn Alex,

I can't believe I just called u and you're telling me all this; I didn't believe it at first, and then you told me it was about $15,000 for the repair. I mean, WTF!

That's more expensive than a damn BMW's tranny. I mean, WTF again!

But about your thought of trading the car, nah bro, it just happened to you and you didn't even beat the crap out of the car like other people is doing even with mods, so it must've been an error, a bad mistake that went by overlooked while they were makin the dam tranny.

I really, really, really hope Mitsu can swap the tranny for you at no cost. Cause 15 grand.... man!

Wow this is really bad man.

So let me get this right. 15k for the tranny, 25k for the car. So put in a manual for $2500 and Mitsu should be able to sell them for $12,500!!
